The only thing I didn't enjoy about two was that it lacked the amount of humor and tri-character interaction that the 1st movie had. Other than that, I thought the fighting scenes were really well done in 2 and the movie was pretty good overall. I'm really looking forward to 3 and will see it sometime this week. (After I take the kids to see Shrek 3 that is. Gotta have their dose of Shrek after all )

With how much cash Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, and Pirates 3 have made I realized I watch almost no new movies considering I have not seen any of the 9 in theatres and haven't seen any of them all the way through in one sitting, just bits and pieces.

I loved the first one. The second was good. I'd rank the third one in between. Rewatch value might not be there because of some of the crazy scenes.

It was just...okay.

It was REALLY long. There was some shit in there that could have been omitted. And the marriage/fight scene? GAY. So gay. I also didn't like Sparrow's multi-personality shit that was going on. There were so many "back-stabbings" I had a hard time figuring out wtf was going on.

However, the costuming is great and I was so not expecting the ending.

HOLY MOTHER MARY IS ORLANDO FUCKING HOT AT THE END OF THE MOVIE. He blows past Depp on the hotness scale at the end after his little..."transformation". I shall pet myself to images of him for many months to come.

Eh. It was pretty sucky, I thought. It seemed to me that they pretty much changed the story (almost) entirely for this last one. There was too much goofy Hollywood-esque, poor screenwriting shit that is so typical of continuations in general. They got quite carried away with adding new story elements to the point where it no longer came across as an authentic pirate movie.

I was excited that Barbosa was slated to make a reappearance, but they really should have laid off suddenly writing him in as having a definitive moral compass (more or less). That and KO'ing the Kraken before the movie even started was no bueno.

I give it four out of five mehs.
