You see Collosso the Barbarian.
He appears to be a Giant of the Grot'karesh Clan.
He appears to be very young and very tall. He has dark-rimmed milky blue eyes and tanned skin. He has short, flowing blue-black hair worn in elaborate braids. He has an unshaven face, a broad nose and broad shoulders.
He has old battle scars on his right arm.
He is holding a drake greatsword in his right hand.
He is wearing a fiery scarlet coif, a silver coin-clasped hefty black leather loot sack, some black steel-plated boots, an attacking vultite centaur pin, a braided bit of string, a glaes-latched dark wood pipe case, a sturdy dark leather tool satchel clasped with a black iron latch, a crimson leather backscabbard with a mithril claidhmore strapped to it, a chiseled blue starstone clasp, a soulstone inset iron ring, a deeply hooded elven-crafted robe, some leather armwraps, a black bandana, a bone-inlaid pewter band, some fitted ebon brigandine, and a gold-edged bloodjewel amulet.

For all your talk about RP, you kind of suck at it.

First, your response was a clear reprimand and pretty unrealistic. If I asked you in real life what your level was, would you say "I didn't know we had "levels" in life" or would you say "Huh?" and think I was crazy?

Second, you kill the guy for punching you (possibly even good naturedly) and helping you kill that dangerous, bloodthirsty monster trying to kill you.

Think before you post.

Re-read her post, she didn't kill him, she thumped him.

Though I do agree. The RP needed to be improved, and like another stated, if he is new, then teach, so they can teach future generations.

The strike merely stunned him. I think that's the point.

Artha

Um, they swung in full out offensive. Even if the dude didn't die, the intention wasn't to keep him alive.

Um...are you serious? Has anybody in this thread even remotely suggested that the attackers intention was to "keep him alive". Hell no! The point is that an attack against someone that results in a stun is not even close to the same thing as attacking someone until death results. If this person desired a death, they would have swung again and killed the guy. Assuming this didn't happen...duh.

I don't see what's so hard to understand about this. He stunned a stupid fuck that wasn't roleplaying, punched him in the face, etc. End of story.

I even tried to stand him up after I knocked him down, I didn't want to kill him.

The point is that an attack against someone that results in a stun is not even close to the same thing as attacking someone until death results.

You're talking about end-result, I'm talking about intentions. No, they didn't kill them. However, they swung a very large and very sharp object at them, any reasonable person could only assume the intent was to kill.

Depends on where he was aiming.

Artha
05-24-2007, 02:38 PM
Mechanically it was unaimed, but whether that entails a wild swing or not is anyone's guess. He certainly wasn't aiming somewhere nonlethal like a hand or limb.

Gan
05-24-2007, 02:56 PM
True, his first swing was aimed at the leg. The next two swings were open attacks which could have landed anywhere. Although he did not follow up the 3rd and only landed swing with a 4th but tried to pull him back to his feet instead.

So yes, intent would be based on interpretation.

Khariz

You also can't impute all real life ideas such as intent to kill on the suspension of disbelief of GS.

In GS, it's reasonable to assume that if you swing a longsword at a warrior (for example) that he's not going to die. If he dies and you didn't intend him to, certainly apologies and whatnot are in order.

But I agree with you to a certain extend. If I swing my claidhmore at a sorcerer, it may NOT be reasonable to assume he will live. It's all relative I guess.
