Bottom one (black) is a relatively cheap one made by some local independent cutlery. Top one (white) is supposed to be styled after a sword in The Last Samurai and is more of a prop than a combat-ready blade.

The black one is a full tang. It's decent, but not authentically made or anything.

The Paul Chen is fairly impressive. I kind of depleted my non-practical purchase funds, so I haven't made any purchases in the last few years. I'll probably remain at a halt for another decade at this rate.

wtf... I'm actually really surprised that's so cheap... I mean I'm sure it's a peice of crap, but fantasy swords generally fetch more than a c note, and that thing is fucking five and a half feet long

Both are nice... The Paul Chen one has a Tiger in the Tsuba which is pretty cool. I never really messed with the Paul Chen one outside of cutting a watermelon, and a few soft maple branches when I first got it. It was a gift from my private fencing instructor after the NCAA tornament my Junior year in College.

The Masahiro one I picked up a few months ago. I use it to do all the things I wanted to try with my Paul Chen but was too chicken to. Branches, bushes, hedges, cardboard boxes, a pesky little maple tree that sprouted behind the shed... you name it. The blade only has one slight nick on it that was from hitting an aluminum chain-link fence from when I was hacking at the tree. If you're looking for a practical 'real' katana, pretty much any Masahiro sword will do the job.
