After going past this MOFO, I decided I was pissed off enough seeing it:

>look mace

You hear the subdued thoughts of Alti echo in your mind:
"So is dere anything available fer the non-taxpayers for ebons? I never been to one"
>look mace
The mace is surrounded by a dim scintillating light.
You tap a mace.
>drag mace ou
You can't drag a mace!
[Darkstone, Dungeon]
It is difficult to see here, due to a thick swirling mist that blankets this room entirely. Now and again it wavers just enough for you to see a dark stone monolith towering nearly to the ceiling. The iron bunks and other furnishings that may have once served to accommodate the guards are carelessly tossed to one corner of the room in order to make way for this mysterious artifact. You also see a mace.
Obvious exits: out

>get mace
You can't pick that up.

>lick mac
You lick the mace.
It tastes metallic!

>pick mace
You didn't mention what you want to pick the lock with.
>disarm mace
There is no lock on that, so it's unlikely to be trapped.

......

WTF??
Then..

>report Is there a bug with this mace where I am currently? This is what I see: "You also see a mace". When I LOOK at it, I see: The mace is surrounded by a dim scintillating light. I cannot pick it up, I can't drag it. When I drag it it says: "You can't drag a mace!". Is this a BUG, or what should I do?
REPORT should only be used to notify the GemStone IV staff of emergency situations or gamewide technical errors. Please use ASSIST for general support.

Message sent to all online game staff. You may type ONDUTY to see which staff members are currently on duty. If you feel the need to speak with the staff, please type ASSIST for a list of options.

Waited 5 minutes..NO RESPONSE.

So I report again..

SEND[Khaladon] By now, you really know you need to ASSIST unless its an emergency.

>

SEND[Zyllah] It's just a mace, sitting there, to make you ask questions.

>mychar I thought it was an emergency Khaladon!! I mean, its a mace! Just sitting there..could it jump out and attack me?
Warclaidhm I thought it was an emergency Khaladon!! I mean, its a mace! Just sitting there..could it jump out and attack me?

So I put an a ASSIST. I thought Gm's were supposed to be helpful? Regardless of ones rep in the game. I Guess not. Besides, Jael said he got together a bunch of GMs in a chatroom from GS, and none of them wanted to talk to me. They said "Fuck no" or something like that.

GMs really need to ban you for their own sake.

Why do it Warclaidhm? Can you honestly say that you believe that this thread isn't going to turn into something you're not going to like?

I'm with Lyonis on this one... Why put yourself through this, yet again?!?!?!

If it was a possible bug, you should have reported it as a bug, and not just a plain report. That's what's bothering them. Wasting their time with something that wasn't told to them correctly.

Warclaidhm, I'm going to ask you again to please follow the advice of your psychobabble friends. For our sake, and for your sake. Everyone wins.

Sheesh. It's a freaking mace. It's laying there. You can't pick it up. From that, you can assume one of two things:

1) You're not supposed to be able to pick it up.
2) It's a bug.

Either BUG it or move on down the road. Don't bother the GMs with something as silly as a mace that YOU can't pick up!

I think the REPORT verb is used even worse than WARN. Personal opinion, though.

Heh. I imagine the GMs agree with you, Stun. I can just see them cringing... "Oh, no! It's XXXXX again! Whose turn is it? " ;)

HMC! HMC!

I've often wondered why Simu bothered to institute an HMC program they don't seem to be interested in using. HMC characters have been around for years. Why then, the big ballyhoo about HMC and relatively no action once it's implemented? I mean, just STFU and DO something!

I report on occassion.. But when I do, it's usually really humorous, and the GM's don't mind. Most times, they play back.

However, generally, Warclaidhm, if they don't respond the first time, it means they don't find what you say amusing/important/an emergency. So don't report again.

That way, they'll like you more.

I still stand by my statement. REPORT is obviously the verb that gets the most abuse, while I'm not a fan of WARN, I like to normally use WARN COMBAT or CHALLENGE myself. I've used it all of twice, go figure.

Maybe instead of HMC, the GMs could implement a demerit system. :D

A self-important halfing courier approaches you, quite out of breath. "Sir Warclaidhm!" he says in a squeaky voice. "For the crime of being a complete whackjob and a constant annoyance you are awarded 55 demerit points!" Smirking, the courier hands you a piece of ivory parchment and, his task completed, turns and scurries off.

>read parchment

Warclaidhm Demerit Record:

Prior Points: 20 points
Poits awarded today: 55 points
Points to Lockout: 25 points

Please keep this parchment for your records.
