This shit really pisses me off. Since I was in a guarded stance when this happened.

A mastodonic leopard raises his gaze to the sky and looses a terrible, wailing caterwaul!
Your heart leaps into your throat at the sound of the terrible wail!
A mastodonic leopard tries to bite you!
AS: +273 vs DS: +154 with AvD: +33 + d100 roll: +66 = +218
A layer of shifting stone shatters!
... and hits for 94 points of damage!
Deft slash!
You're spun around and hit hard in the lower back.
You are knocked to the ground!
You are stunned for 6 rounds!

I died right after. Good times.

Gain levels and they won't be able to do it as much.

Guess that cry lowered your stance. Never had it ward me before.

I think his comment was meant to be sarcastic considering the level of help it actually provided in that situation.

God. I just can't believe a manuever like that would cut my DS down so much in fucking GUARDED.

i had problems with those leopards when i was hunting them. its like the sheer fear undead critters have so with a few mre levels you won't be affected as much

They hit me sometimes with the panic attack scream 10 levels over them when I forage around there.

I hate them!

That cry binds you. If you hadnt been stunned you would have gotten "you are unable to move" messages if you tried to do something. That's why it lowers DS so much.

Unfortunately, like the rest of the warcries, I couldnt begin to advise you on what helps resist it or if the encumberance mattered - assuming the critter is even using the same actual mechanic as Carn's Cry.

Yup, it's nasty. Between that, the rt pounces and the wing buffets from the raptors you have some uncommon difficulty for EN (whose hunting areas are often derided as cake/walkthrough). Died there quite a few times myself.

Little, actually. Stats have nothing to do with it for the defender. It is level, Warcry training, and spells like Bravery, Heroism, Dauntless, symbol of Courage, etc.
