I want to ambush with a bastard sword from hiding and be able to leg something well. this is my training play I was thinking about
Armor Use..........................|14
Combat Maneuvers............| 14
Two-Handed Weapons...........|28
Ambush.............................| 14
Physical Fitness................... 14
Harness Power..................... 12
Stalking and Hiding................| 16
Perception.........................| 24

Ranger.............................| 12
I know this is all wrong, But my points are limited what can I drop to clear up more points?
Nothing wrong with this but I wouldn't go over 1x spells. When my two handed ranger was younger like this I dropped CM and physical fitness training to keep hide at 2x and my perception up. You can also drop perception to 1.5x if you like but I wouldn't go lower than that. 1.5x is plenty for aiming a bastard sword for the leg. I didn't catch up on my PF training until level 53 and my CM until level 65, but I had an extremely odd training plan. Other rangers will tell you to stick some dodge in there, but I have 17 total dodge right now, plan on hitting 50 dodge at cap. If you are only going to 1x hiding though I would recommend more dodge.

ACK!!! 2x(ish) Harness power on a ranger that focus' on 2HWs!?!?!
Way way way better off dropping that down to 12 ranks, and getting 101. (you can still get 102 at "1x" cost, but 102 isn't that useful for you, 103 would be nice when you get the chance to cut off a ranger rank).
Also try to raise your armor use in "useable" chunks if you're desperate for points. 14 ranks isn't any more usable than 13 ranks.

I forget what level Hill Trolls are, but they might be good... check em out.
Eh... they're 16, that might be a bit high... (guess they got bumped up for GS4) ... forest trolls and dark orcs might be good.

I have a THW Ambusher as well, but his stats are placed for better optimal long term growth...at the moment I'm getting my butt kicked by everything i go after.
I'm only level 2 right now, and going to run messages I guess for the next level or two...both my AS and my DS suck at the moment. Would training in Dodge for now be a good idea, and I can always untrain it later on down the road?
Any other advice would be welcome.

At the moment, I'm trying not to over-spend too much on anything really, but I could use some ideas for what to do for the immediate future that I can fix down the road.
I noticed that both of you are claiming to be tight on points, but are also OVER 1x in your skills. It may be that you're pretty far into your levels, but remember that 1x in a skill is (your level + 1), not +2 as you both have it. Try keeping things that you plan on 1xing only at 1x. I find that it's much easier for me to know what to train in if I just save all my points until I level. That way I know exactly how many points I can put where (and I don't have to calculate anything).
Just my thoughts.

I have some TP to move around, i'm just not sure what would give me the best bang for my buck as it were, to get past these first few difficult levels. Even rats are kicking my butt...i don't have much for AS or DS right now. Got me thinking about switching to sword and board for a little while.

the best advice I can give is get into chain-based armors as quick as possible.
I am torn b/w staying at double or going up to augmented at the moment.
Augmented is the way to go.

I will point out that the less spells you get the better your redux is going to be. Missing a few spell ranks isnt' going to hurt you over the long haul and the quicker to redux the better as a THW user.
Just don't get hit, as a ranger you have the tools not to.

but remember that 1x in a skill is (your level + 1), not +2 as you both have it.
Point cost wise it's (level +2) until level 100, because of interlevel training.
