Ok, I posted this before, had some help. But man is it pissing me off. With my laptop fixed, I went back to the keypad issues I have.
The scan code for the keypad is coming up as Num 1-Num 9 instead of Keypad 1-9. Obviously we GS dorks who need our keypad need this!! I have an external keyboard I use and I hate. I can't rest my hands on or near and it's starting to cause CT like pains.
I've tried Targus, DYnex and Rocketfish now, none have worked. I was told the cheap Dynex do, but BestBuy said they own Dynex and changed the name to rocketfish.
Is there a way to change how the keypad sends the scan code to the laptop without a program(just remap it or something?) or am I fuct? Brining this one back in a bit, hopefully I get some advise before I go!

If you look at the column where BIOS is:
4B00 is Keypad 4
4BE0 is Num 4
Every one won't work!
I have read through some Accounting forums that this is a problem with their program as well that they need it to register Keypad 1 and not Num 1.
I'm just fucking stressed!

I feel your pain man... this is why there is a keyboard Permanently resting on the top of my laptop. I'm a little confused by the scancode program but I'm curious as to how a DirectInput (DirectX) would read your input (if it's read as different than Num1).
Another idea, find a cheap USB keyboard with a numpad. Pop it open and look at the inner workings, usually it's a flexible pad under the keys... cut the shell down to just the numpad housing, put the pad back in the now messed up housing (so the pad is sticking out where regular keys were) and just roll the pad up and tape it to the side of your ghetto keypad.

I fucking just bought a programable keypad for $87.
105 keys. Fucking Christ! The price of convenience.

I know I'm a lunatic for spending close to 100 on a keypad, but I don't give a fuck. Just about a day of work after taxes and child support! LMAO! But man, was I fucking angry today.

Totally worth it if it works. Considering how much people spend on computers, there is input and there is output, a good monitor and good input devices are absolutely key to a pleasant experience.
Personally if I need to justify some expense like that I just don't go drinking that weekend :medieval:

The fact that you use your kepad to play GS is sickening.

I don't remember ever needing to use the keypad for GS. But you need the mouse for WoW at some point.

You don't NEED a keypad, but I just can't run as fast in GS as I could with the directionals.
But I gotta say, this programable pad is fucking awesome. It saves the macros I set to the program. So while SF is open, it's my directional, when no prgram I have set is open, it works like shortcut keys, when notpad is open, it's a numpad. When I say open, I mean the front program. Gonna set up some stuff for civ4 next!
Good times! And I got refunded $40 bucks due to finding it cheaper somewhere else, and the store honored a cash back with proof. So that was cool too!
