Looking for some interesting trades..

-Raise the gauntlet and the energy bow will form in your left hand for 20 mana
-The bow is 5x when on mana mode
-Every minute you have the bow in your hand in mana mode it drains 5 mana
-Generates self ammo permablessed arrows
-Fires in 3 seconds flat no matter your STR (4 if you aim)
-WICKED Plasma flares that flare about 1 every 5 or 6 shots as high as 75 damage
-Against undead it has the chance to flare twice
-In GOD mode, bow has ability to become 20x
-To get it to GOD mode you clench the gauntlet (GOD mode can be used only every 2 hrs)
-In spirit mode instead of mana upkeep its 1 SP every 20 seconds
-Grants enhancives of +10 STR, INF and AUR when in GOD mode
-Stat bonuses go away the next pulse after it's no longer in GOD mode
-When in GOD mode the bow flares on EVERY shot
-When you drop the bow from GOD mode you get rank 2 wound on left hand and arm
-When disarmed in either mode the bow drops to the ground, disintegrates and you can instantly make a new one for 20 mana by just raising the gauntlet again
-Has about 5 different automatic scripts that go off randomly

>wear gaunt
A faint pulse of diffuse golden energy shimmers around the azure leather gauntlet as you slide it over your left hand.

>raise gaunt
You raise your clenched fist above your head, causing crackling arcs of diffuse golden energy to streak forth from either end of your azure leather gauntlet. The energy quickly stabilizes, forming a diffuse golden bow centered on your left hand.

>drop bow
Crackling bands of diffuse golden energy flow down the limbs your diffuse golden bow as they recede into the confines of your azure leather gauntlet.

- Random auto scripts -

Your diffuse golden bow flickers into transparency for a moment, before quickly returning to normal.

Your diffuse golden bow pulses softly.

A bead of diffuse golden energy flows down the invisible thread connecting the upper and lower limbs of your bow, leaving behind a tiny shimmering trail.

An intense wave of diffuse golden light suddenly manifests itself across your bow, slowly fading out as it lingers silently in the air.

Your bow issues a low thrumming sound in time with irregular diffuse golden pulses, more felt than heard.

Erratic fibers of diffuse golden essence dance their way up and down the insubstantial form of your bow.

- Examples -

>fire
You draw back on the force between the limbs of your bow, drawing upon your power to create a crackling diffuse golden bolt of energy.
You fire a crackling diffuse golden bolt of energy at a spectral triton defender!
AS: +581 vs DS: +223 with AvD: +9 + d100 roll: +9 = +376
... and hit for 68 points of damage!
Decent shot to the left eye would have blinded a normal foe!

** Your bolt of energy suddenly bursts, scattering into particles of diffuse golden plasma! **
... 45 points of damage!
Top of the head momentarily flattened.

** The diffuse golden particles swirl and collapse in on themselves, centered on a spectral triton defender! **
... 60 points of damage!
Strong hit rips arm from wrist to elbow.
The wound vanishes as the ethereal flesh swirls around in chaotic patterns.
Roundtime: 4 sec.
Roundtime changed to 1 second.

>fire
You draw back on the force between the limbs of your bow, drawing upon your power to create a crackling diffuse golden bolt of energy.
You fire a crackling diffuse golden bolt of energy at a triton dissembler!
AS: +581 vs DS: +305 with AvD: +24 + d100 roll: +38 = +338
... and hit for 74 points of damage!
Shot knocks the triton dissembler's head back by pushing on the inside of the skull!
The triton dissembler collapses, gurgling once with a wrathful look on his face before expiring.
The deep blue glow leaves a triton dissembler.
A triton dissembler loses its focused look.
A shadow seems to detach itself from a triton dissembler, swiftly dissipating into the air.
The dull golden nimbus fades from around a triton dissembler.
The powerful look leaves a triton dissembler.
The bolt of energy dissipates into tiny diffuse golden particles.

>fire
You draw back on the force between the limbs of your bow, drawing upon your power to create a crackling diffuse golden bolt of energy.
You fire a crackling diffuse golden bolt of energy at a triton magus!
AS: +581 vs DS: +267 with AvD: +24 + d100 roll: +25 = +363
... and hit for 99 points of damage!
Strike to the eye penetrates skull, ocular fluid sprays widely!
The triton magus gurgles once and goes still, a wrathful look on her face.
The bright luminescence fades from around a triton magus.
A triton magus seems to lose an aura of confidence.
A triton magus is no longer moving so silently.
A triton magus appears less powerful.
The bolt of energy dissipates into tiny diffuse golden particles.
Roundtime: 4 sec.
Roundtime changed to 1 second.

Because stupid people will waste hundreds of millions at the auction for it.

(Yeah I watched him buy them and was spitting beer out my nose the entire time with uncontrollable laughter)

You'd think a GM such as Tsin would know better to buy such a piece of shit weapon.

Because it's soooo awesome or because you know you'll never recoup what you spent on it?

Curious.. why do you dislike these bows?

Try hunting an area where you get disarmed at least once a hunt even fully doubled in CM and full 5 ranks of cman disarm.. I can't imagine how often it happens to other professions who can't fully train in disarm defending.. Not to mention the implosions and undead that can pick it up, evaporate instantly on death so you can't search them to get your weapon back.. In OTF it's not so bad cause you can at least retrieve your weapons from critters. Stuff is gone for good if you get screwed in the temple.

lol so use a shit 5x that doesn't tear your soul apart in typical GM 'balance' when you use it.

Most people do use pieces of shit to hunt if there is a chance of losing it. But I know for a fact that every single one of them is pissed off that they have to use such a piece of shit for a primary weapon. I especially feel sorry for the people who own or can afford really nice weapons that they can never use to hunt. I would probably be using my 9.5x claid weighted mattock if I could bond to it or there was no disarming in the temple.

Which is one of the stupidest things in GS.

Can I say I really hate "Game Balancing" as an aside? Fucking God mode can't even be consider God Mode with the costs associated. And God Mode is all that makes it worthy of Auction Item status.

Agreed x 100.

I'm guessing those that can afford this weapon have a character capped or near it. I've got 101 CM and 5 ranks of disarm and still get disarmed (fuck you open rolls) in the temple or OTF. I'd say that alone helps increase the sale of this item if only marginally.

Additionally, this weapon is great in the temple against sentries and defenders as they are both undead.

Tsin let me test it. It's a real cool bow. Little more than I can pay/will pay for it though.

Unfortunately, the one I really want, he'll never sell.

game balance is the only thing that keeps an already dull array of hunting options from being so boring you claw your eyes out. Everyone know super god cheat mode is a blast, but it's not sustainable for long-term playability.

I don't agree. From my own perspective I prefer very easy hunting. I'm only doing 1 hunt a night tops and if I die it ruins what little time I have in-game. Hunting is just a method to get my character to a level that can back up his RP, I don't really enjoy it.

One hunt a night isn't standard for GS players. And even that, over a lifetime, gets really dull. Imagine at cap when you don't even have new creatures to look forward to.

Everyone hates Warden, but he's the primary reason why GS is still around and hasn't gone the way of every other text-based RPG from GS's time. The man knows how to keep just enough challenge and frustration to entertain.

That is the damned truth. Only reason I got to cap was so I could then relax and concentrate on RP.
Other people hunt constantly for a +1 to AS after a month solid.
Others do it to pay Tsins prices for gak like this uber-nerfed bow.

Hence the reason why I sold my ranger at 97.5 trains. It's just boring.
