Anyone ever have success with a halfling warrior build? I'd imagine you'd HAVE to go two handers, or TWC to get any power. Any advice?

No reason you couldn't be a halfling warrior archer too. Or possibly even a FU brawler... I don't think you would have to go any training path... so you've got a bit lower AS, Warriors excel in that area so you really shouldn't be that hard up... just make sure you make up for the lack of HPs with mroe DS.

I've never played a halfling warrior but I imagine that the biggest drawbacks are health, encumberance, and the size penalty for many cmans.
Cman Toughness can offset some the health concerns now that it's passive. I would probably also focus on cmans that take weapon spec and bonding into account to offset the size penalty. Things like feint (generic), hamstring (twc) don't incur a size penalty and do take wspec/bonding into account. Things like trip (polearms) and possible charge (it's been a while since I've used charge but I think wspec/bonding applies) do incur a size penalty but also apply wspec/bonding.
As previously mentioned FU would also work pretty well.

Jinsem was pretty wicked with his voln fu build I think.

I've been tooling around with the concept of a Halfling warrior for a couple years now. Never really put too much time into him, just a lot of concept stuff. His strength is only a 10 bonus at 100 which sucks, but being a CoL Master balances that out a little. I'd say my number one issue is encumbrance; I kept surge of strength after the change specifically so I could lug boxes around. Originally, I made him to test the design of the system, and got him into plate with a 5 second swing on a falchion by level 12. Very recently I just fixskilled him into 2x edged, twc, and MoC, so by 14 he had focused mstrike. He doesn't hit particularly hard, but he hits a lot, and his TWC RT with 2 fals is only 5 seconds.
EDITED TO ADD:
Focused mstrike yields 4 swings and 8 seconds RT unencumbered (which unfortunately is rare). If I had to do it over, I might have gone elf or something similar, but I really enjoy my little guy, and it was hilarious when he was in plate; because his manuevers were for shit, but nothing could kill him because it was like kicking around a tin can.

back in GSIII I had a friend who played a halfling with a claidh, which is what originally inspired me to start my guy; I'll say that it was one of the most broken characters I've ever encountered, because his lack of strength didn't matter when he had crit weighting. That, and he had some ridiculous roundtime for ambushing in the open with a claidh. The idea seemed too ridiculous for me (a halfling with a claidh? Where the heck does he keep it?) to try myself, but it works remarkably well.

His RT would have been only 6 seconds at the least. Which is the minimum for anyone ambushing with a claid now.

I think you're right; at any rate, I think he made the character to prove that *any* race with a claidh would be at the very least playable.

Murgin's a polearm user. Jinsem's a mutant army Fu-er.
Both are quite successful.
Now, say, switch to Burghal Gnome and you might not have many warriors.

I bet with a claidh they'd still be hunt-able, but you wouldn't have any respect for yourself in the morning.

Funny... I just made a Burghal warrior last night, I came looking for CMAN suggestions and figured a post on halflings would be similar as for gnomes.. I went gnome because I have a HARD time letting my mind stats in the negatives for life. I did need more points and figured a more mental bonus type race would fix that.. Sure his stats will suck at 100, but the TPs are great overall. Just because the subject was brought up I will post his info below.

Ninbert, your Combat Maneuver training is as follows:
Skill name Mnemonic Ranks
Specialization I wspec1 1
Bull Rush bullrush 1
Available Combat Maneuver Training Points: 5
Had him using headbutt, was hilarious until I stopped killing gnolls trogs and gnomes for a bounty.. Can't really hit anything else, bullrush still works it seems. He primarily uses a claidh right now. He has 84 AS with strength up, swings at 5 rt. I don't see any penalties in hunting as of now compared to other races, he is only level 3 and I have played all of maybe 2 hours with him, but eh, it's a fun concept.

I played a halfling warrior a long long long time ago. Going THW and having no idea what I was doing, I made it to about level 20 without too much trouble.
a halfling archers RT would blow wouldn't it?

Stillson was/is a halfling warrior, unless he converted to Paladin. If Stillson is still a warrior, then he has made cap or is very near it. When I was around him, he was THW.

Shattyn was the old days halfling with a claid, of course he did use a 6x claid to offset any halflingness penalties. Tayvin has adisgustingly equipped warrior as well. actually been quite a few of them thru the years really.

Was murgin the polearmer?
I remember several years back being in krag yetis and some halfing would mosey by with a lance in chainmail. I was in awe and he would sky rocket level wise.
I think as long as you didnt pick up loot other then gems a halfling warrior would be rediculous. I'd definitly go poles/or\2 handers + voln fu though.
