View Full Version : Must have XBox games?

So, I finally splurged and bought an HDTV, and figured that I might as well plonk down the cash for an XBox 360 while I was at it. I've currently got Gears of War and Dead Rising on my games list. And thanks to backwards compatibility, I'm also digging around in the XBox classic bargain bin, since I missed out on those games the previous console generation.

So, what are some must have XBox and XBox 360 games? I'm not a huge fan of sports or racing titles, but most everything else is fair game.

Obviously, Halo... But to be honest, I haven't seen any titles that make me want to purchase one. Same goes with the Wii and PS3. That's outside sports titles...

I'd say Assassin's Creed, but they bumped it's release date to 9/25/07. Which makes me a sad panda.

Oblivion is a great buy for the 360. I thought Fable was cool for the Xbox. Madden 08 seems to have promise.

Yea nothing out currently makes me go nuts to buy it.

And while Oblivion is one nice game, it has it's ups and downs. Along with the fact you CAN play it on your PC with a good enough video card.

Oblivion, Gears of War, Halo 2. That's the best three, a bunch of other good games. I really enjoyed Marvel: Ultimate Alliance but maybe that's just me.

My son just bought Hitman: Blood Money, and it seemed to have some potential. I'm thinking about buying Enchanted Arms to bide my time as I wait for Assassin's Creed.

That's the last game I actually finished, start to end. I always get distracted, but that one was definately memorable.

Viva Pinata is the most fucking addictive game I've played since the first Pokemon.

Played through Crimson Skies the other week. Very good game, very crappy ending. Current favorite is Fight Night Round 2. Bought a lot of other old used games that I'll be working my way through.

I slept on Crimson Skies for so long just because it came free with my live subscription. Started playing and it quickly became one of my favorites. Definitely recommend that one.

Halo sucks imo until you can play with a mouse. All FPS sucks without mouse/keyboard.

Mass Effect, when it comes out, will be the best game in the universe (aside from secret of mana, naturally).

I'd suggest Crack Down if you like beating the fuck out of everything. It's fun in short bursts.

Oblivion FTW. Though I am also partial to LEGOS Star Wars II for 360, and LEGOS Star Wars Original for Xbox (compatible).

QFT. Gears of War pisses me off to no end because it's such an awesome game but forces you to play with a shitty controller. There's really no excuse for this anymore, since all the new consoles are USB compatible. When asked why there was no mouse/keyboard support for Gears of War, their answer was something along the lines of, "We didn't want to give mouse/keyboard users an advantage."

Yessir. 50 bucks for 12 months > simu prices

I havent even really gone online with Forza 2 yet. I've been having fun screwing around in the paint shop and half assedly doing the career mode. Making JGTC cars on teh XBOX = pwn.
