I agree w/Chica - brawl/shield.

I know Nakiro went back to ohe/shield and his DS has gone insanely up becasue of it. So I give this option 2nd place in my rankings, unless you arent interested in voln, then I'd say go ohe/shield (use a dagger).

Otherwise, volnfu rules.

Well I am only train 7, I want something to where I can hunt well with swinging, using boneshatter sometimes. Then come back to town and heal some if I need to. I was thinking Twohanded swords, but sword and shield doesn't sound to bad.

Errr, fuck DS. You can heal yourself. 1101 is like my best combat spell. I'm a two-handed empath, so far it's been pretty easy-breezy, and much more fun. Feint is/was? my god, I haven't played this character much since feint was nerfed, but I never really feinted to throw into RT, just to drop stance. Obviously, armor is a problem, but that's because I still wanted to be a good skinner. And spell aiming is an awesome backup:

I'm having a pretty good time with my 37th level elven polepath.

15 ranks of armor
1x polearms
24 ranks of cmans (3 ranks of trip, I'll get the last two ranks when I can)
1x physical fitness
20/10 climbing/swimming (I'll get more as I can)
1x first aid
1x harness power (120 mana at 37, and yes, mana management is key)
1.75x spell aim (will take this to 2x as soon as I can)
25/20 ranks spirit/mental mana control
5 ranks mental telepathy lore (I might drop this in favor of more spell aim)
Spells to 130/219/1138 (will have 225 by 40th level)

It's a fun build.
