Eh, once in a while you get rather tired of some people's holier than thou style of posting when they brag about what they do for a living in practically every post and just burst. That's what I figured happened here.

I don't know what his problem is, if he has one, but it might be the same as mine.
Law School puts me in a bad mood. I'm not sure why. I like learning what I'm learning, but when I go back out into the real world, all I do is think about how stupid everyone I know is, and it causes me to snap real easy and appear to be angry all the time.
I now think the majority of the people I know are idiots, and while I've always felt intellectually superior to them, this is different now.
I think it has something to do with being immersed in "reasonableness" standards, meticulous procedures that make too much sense for their own good, and most of all, exposure to the methods of forming unshakable, cohesive arguments (syllogisms), that really causes you think everyone else is unreasonable, daft, and incapable of even explaining their "point" in a discussion, let alone arguing it.
My wife will start talking to me and the crux of her story will be Issue A. But 1/4 of the way through the story she will bring up Issue B, and I have to be like "STOP, what does that have to do with what you are telling me?". And she says, "Well nothing, really". And I'm like "Well tell me about that next as a seperate story but stay on point when you are speaking to me. It drives me crazy for you to mix issues like they are the same damn thing."
Of course, she, nor anybody else I know, even realizes that they are doing this, because they have not been trained (brainwashed) into automatically seperating ever minute detail from every other to clarify in one's mind where the seperate issues lie.
By the way, I'm not suggesting that the "result" of law school is unique to lawyers. When you are a musician (especially if you are a music major), it stops you from just sitting and listening to music in a fully relaxed state. Instead you are invoking your knowledge of music theory, consciously and subconsciously picking apart the music in your head. That's a 5-7 progression. Odd, that musician is playing in 4/4 even though the meter of this song is 3/4, ahahahahah he's messing everything up. I could go on and on.
Each profession has training that makes it acutely aware of the quirks and problems (or greatness) within its own. Lawyers though, being in the profession of logical and procedural arguments, for lack of a better way to put it, lose the ability to sanely listen to un-trained thinkers spew babble with poorly constructed thoughts, arguments, discussions, etc.
My point? Pretty much everyone drives me fucking bonkers because they think that ABC are one subject when its actually A and B and C. They also don't realize that most of what they say is unsubstantiated opinion, with no ability to back it up, cite anything relevant to why/how they formed such opinion, and all other multitude of logical fallacies and idiotic behavior.
Now...I have no idea if that's TheE's problem, if he even has one, but is sure is hell is MY problem!

It would take a committee of epic proportions to be successful.
Good luck.

I'm doing this more and more with every conversation I have now, not just with the mrs. With her, I have to stop and remind myself that she's my partner/best friend and she doesnt deserve to be treated with impatience or without impunity. With others, they aren't so lucky. ;)
And I'm not even in law school yet!!!
(The PC is a great place to practice, I must say.)

LOL, did you do that on purpose? Surely you realize that wasn't the point of my post.
The point of my thread: TheE has the right be annoyed and asstasstic in his threads, as Law School has probably made him as equally aware that everyone (okay not everyone, but rather MANY people) here is pretty much an idiot incapable of forming cohesive thought and argument.
The tangent thing is reserved more for real life conversations. It's almost understandable that it happens on a message board. Doesn't change the fact that people are dense/stupid, and have no clue what they are talking about 99% of the time.

Well when you go on a tangent about intelligence and focus, I would advise not making any "accidents" then, Mr. Brilliance.

My post was a rant. It was an intentionally mis-directed serious of thoughts to explain why TheE might have changed recently.
As to spelling/punctuation...if I cared to spend the time to be accurate, I would have. This is not a thesis, a brief, or anything else important. I'm not going to waste my time proofing it for more than extremely blantant fuckups.

If you think that typing a silly, smartass statement somehow proves a point, you are sadly mistaken.
And now folks, I no longer have time for this thread, because I have to spend the remainder of today studying for this semester's exams. Have fun "pwning" me in my absence, and I'll check back tonight for more fun. I seriously can't wait to come back and see what you all have left for me to laugh at.

Everyone here except for me is an idiot, so if I sometimes seem rude or dismissive, it's only because I am frustrated at trying to communicate with neanderthals---therefore, justified.
It's like Tsin Jr...

Okay... lets form a sub-committee to remove the stick from Khariz' ass...
There have been a number of threads he hadn't posted in and then just busted in a one liner douche remark... I have no problem with people do that, infact I enjoy it myself, it's just not the norm for TheE, normally he's the type who has more patience with people than they deserve. He explained it to me in the 2nd post in my thread :P
I love TheE. Our characters cybered once.
I have no problem with people acting like an asshat on the boards as long as they also have the expectation to be called on it when it happens.
Otherwise, please refer to the first quote in my sig. *Otherwise, refer to the second quote in my sig.

Let Alok's recent mood be a warning to all who enter the path of a 1L in the middle of finals.
My advice would be that the Players Corner is not a distraction to engage in while taking finals of any kind... much less 1L.

My posts-per-day almost triple during finals. The PC affords reasonable procrastination when compared to TV, video games, etc. I can get on every hour or so, see what idiots say, and lambaste them. =)

My patience decreases in proportion to the decrease in time between now and my finals. I think the exchange which caused this thread went something to the effect of "You're a retard!!!111" followed by "No, YOU R teh RETARD!!!! LOLZ", when the topic seemed like something relevant which could of been discussed in a reasonable matter.
Of course, in my effort to master long arm statutes in Civ Pro, I've already forgotten what that thread was.
Oh, and law school does make you hate everyone else. I'm not sure it has to do with a feeling of intellectual superiority, but extreme jealous of their non-insanity.

Ahhaahahahah! Yes, yes it does. Can I borrow the phrase "reasonable procrastination"? I love it.
Taking a lunch break, by the way, for those of you who will point out the inconsistancy of me posting now. Mmmmmm BBQ.
Oh, and I'm not a 1L, so I don't have 1L exam wrath. I'm just an asshole.
As to whomever said I could have saved time by posting "Law School makes you a pompous ass". You are so right, I should have saved time by posting that. I certainly think I am much more of a pompous ass than I used to be. Unfortunately, I also feel justified. I guess that's the problem.
I didn't realize that people, myself included, suck so much at forming coherant thought until they are shown (or as I said before, brainwashed) to do so.

Hmm, maybe you found the real problem. Law School makes you feel like YOU are the one that's not insane, when in actuality, maybe everyone else is sane, and YOU are the insane one. This has almost reached paradoxical levels in my brain. Time to get back to studying.
Oh, and I was just explaining Long Arm Statutes to my father. I feel bad for you.

When people are self aware enough to say that they are pompous yet then go on to say that they feel somehow entitled to be so shows either a lack of understanding of the word and its common usage or a tremendous deficiency of character.
He may well be a "good guy" but when he projects an such an arrogant irritating persona how many people will ever see that and instead will see someone very much resembling our dear "take you out to the desert where things happen" Sean or the much beloved Tsin?
