Yes. The 64 bit version hasn't come out yet.
ROFLMAO!!! - Okay, well...Microsoft is full of losers then since they put out patches for the 64 bit version already...lol
The 64 bit version will be for the new 64 bit processors right?

Yep. I'm personally waiting on the Opteron Processors to come out from AMD. They were admittedly cooler when they were still called Hammer and Sledgehammer...but oh well.

Also, the 64 bit version is most likely in beta. and they're probably updates for that that you're seeing.

I just spent 20 mins talking to a friend about it. I am interested in the 64-bit chip...although...I am not interested in the price. Keep Celeron. Its cheap and works good. heh

What abouts is the price for one of these 64-Bit processors?

The Opteron 240 will run at 1.4GHz and cost around $340 in volume quantities, said sources, while the Opteron 242 and 244 will run at, respectively, 1.6GHz and 1.8GHz and cost around $800 and $900. Prices could change, sources cautioned, and, historically, wide discrepancies have existed between AMD's posted price and the actual prices that the chips sell for.

I would like to try AMD, but most people I know who had problems were with them.
The article I read about the 64bit amd had mixed results on the benchmark tests but of course the p4 had similar results on the very first comparisons to the P3's so that should change as the technology catches up?

I've only ever had a problem with AMD once. And it was on a laptop. AMD processors run hotter than intel processors, so if you don't have a decent cooling system you can fuck yourself over. But other than that i'd recomment AMD over Intel ANY day of the week.
