The following is a log from an IM conversation that I had with a guy who is trying to sell a "72nd train" Sorcerer. Enjoy.

Mr. Bait-n-Switch: i have retrained him to gm4 but i think he still has the 5 retrains left to make him how ever you want

DrunkenDurfin: those only last for 30 days

DrunkenDurfin: after the conversion

Mr. Bait-n-Switch: and the fix skill is coming in like 17days anyways

DrunkenDurfin: the fixstat is what we were wondering about

Mr. Bait-n-Switch: he can still be changed to whatever you want

DrunkenDurfin: still, he is not a 72nd train sorc. He is 55.

Mr. Bait-n-Switch: i never said he was going to be 72

DrunkenDurfin: the ad says he is 72

Mr. Bait-n-Switch: i stated he was a 72 level sorc in gm3

If the ad really said he was 72 in GS3, then I don't see a problem.

I've never seen anyone refer to the game as GM instead of GS though. I'm guessing he's some nub that's never leveled up a toon on his own.

There are just so many contradictions in the conversation. He had, in fact, already converted the character to GSIV as can be seen from the stats that he pasted. But, he claims that he had not converted him earlier in the conversation.

I am with you, I don't think he has ever played, or if he has it has only been for about 20 minutes. Makes me wonder where he got the account to sell in the first place.

But I completely agree that posting him as level 72 was very low "bait and switch" tactic. I really doubt he put the game down long enough, and then three years later decided to sell the account without opening it, so he posted as "Level 72 sorc" and then decided to log in and then realized it was lower level.

Nah it wasn't bait and switch. I had talked to the same guy before he retrained him. Sent him an email saying no one will buy it without more information and all that.

He distinctly told me he was 72 in gs3, and he stopped playing. He didnt know what lvl he would be now as he 'was stuck in the mangler'.

So I told him to go ahead and place his stats, and train him, and send me the information afterwards.

He never did though.

Now that the guy is 55, hes not worth the 700, unless he has some nice gear.. Which I also asked about. And got no answer, since he was in the mangler.

Anyhow, you know now that the character is indeed 55, and all that. He didn't take your $700 and then say ooh yeah he was only 72 in gs3... sucker.
