View Full Version : Possibly selling my sorcerer

Necromancer

After careful deliberation, I realize that it would be irresponsible of me not to at least list my sorcerer for sale to see if any offers come in that cannot be refused. The buyer, if any, will pay for the character transfer fee. And, of course, the buyer is purchasing the time and energy invested in the maintenance of this character. The character himself and all of his items are property of simutronics corporation and are not mine to sell.

At this point there's no reason to play the standard secrecy game; particularly since simply describing said sorcerer would make it quite clear who he was. So I'm not really bothering. The identity of the buyer, if any, will be kept between me and that person. I will not be posting the results of this potential sale on these forums. At most I will simply state that there is no reason to send me bids (either because I have decided not to sell him or because he is already sold).

I hate doing this more than I would ever have imagined, but real life comes first.

So, I am putting my beloved level 89 Faendryl sorcerer up for sale. He is cranky and nasty. He has many friends and many enemies. I like him that way.

Here are the stat and skills run downs:

Said sorcerer is a master of COL, mastered in illusions, and currently has over 180k in lifetime Bounty Points. His badge has a +6 to AUR bonus right now, which yields 11 spirit. He has 280 mana and 120 health. He is Faendryl, of course.

His CS is currently 451 with all spells up.

He currently has the most uncommon runes of any sorcerer in the game (5 uncommon demonology runes...abyran; abyran'sa; verlok; igaesha; and imp)

With his current necromancy ranks, said sorcerer can animate any creature up to 12 levels above his head (currently up to level 101).

He is currently one of the best scroll infusers in all of Gemstone, with over 180 arcane symbols ranks. This also means his durations on scrolls are insane.

He will be sold with most of his current gear because I cannot bear to split everything up; his gear is too substantial a part of who he is to me. Of course, the buyer (if any) is free to do what they choose with his gear.

Highlights include:
5x fairly crit padded and altered doubles (lightened to 9 lbs)

5x highly scripted runestaff

Altered head armor that reduces slash attacks by 1/3

Altered sorcery-related materials (fully altered crystal-making supplies, including two vials; six or so flasks; the mortar; and the pestal. Also includes a ton of MTK blood and moonflowers at present. Also an altered brush for creating runestones and an altered 740 book...which has runes from every city in Elanthia)

A full religious/ritual kit (including a god-auctioned tome with 10-12 scripts, an altered altar with a custom script, an altered ritual dagger with an altered ritual sheath, an altered altar cloth, and two sets of altered and scripted prayerbeads...one of which is one of four raffled sets with scripts that are guaranteed to be unique to these four sets and that will input whichever diety the user follows into those scripts)

An altered 1x/day raise dead wand (comes with several well of life scrolls, of course) in an altered and scripted wand belt.

A fully altered clothing set. Everything on said sorcerer's person is altered in a matching theme, of course.

A festival dragonfly (the 1x/month travel to Cysagaer item)

A lizard with altered cricket box

A fairly impressive collection of scrolls (unlocked and unused scrolls kept separately so you don't have to guess)

Partnership in three different shops (note: I cannot guarantee that the shop owners will maintain these partnerships if he changes hands)

A ton of animation crystals

Two tattoos and a few feature alterations (including a feature-changing wig)

And more, of course.

I am looking for a lot, obviously. I have already turned down a $700 offer; so start above that. If no one bids, I am okay with that. If someone offers me a significant enough sum of money, he will be sold, and I will be okay with that as well (albeit somewhat heart broken).

$700 would be for him naked, and I can't believe you're selling him, good luck.

Thanks. I'm not really sure what good luck looks like at this point (He sells? He doesn't sell?), but I do know what a responsible decision is. And sadly this is that.

Quickly glancing I'd say 1100 is about what you'd want with his items. Unfortunately, the more time/money you spend to make the character unique, the less you get out of it. The person who buys him will most likely not be able to play him anything like you would like to see. I could play this character pretty well, but I'm not going to spend money on a character, I think most people who can play a character well are like that.

Talk about buying a reputation ;)

You're gonna really, really regret selling him.
Good luck with everything buddy, I hope it works out so you don't have to.

I would be willing to bet that if bought, he would be put in 'utility' mode for a while (year or more) with little or no RP interaction.

At least thats how I would utilize him if I were going to purchase. This is where your positive popularity actually works against you as a seller.

I already regret it. But that's life. Trust me, this isn't one of those "Oh, I'm bored with Gemstone!" sales. It's me doing what needs to be done, even though I hate it.

And said sorcerer can be purchased and played however the buyer would like. He even has an intercession gem on him that can be used to convert him to another deity if they want to RP some dramatic change. (oh god, I think I just had a stroke typing that)

Well considering I know how much time/effort you've put into him, something huge must've happened to make you want to sell, so good luck with whatever is forcing you to sell out.

heh, maybe I'll be self-absorbed and post the story so people at least don't think I'm selling out just to go fly out to Hawaii.

If you spent that much time in GS4.. Just sell your items for $$... If your regretting selling the character even before you have a bid... You know you will hate yourself... For it.. Just freeze the account and come back another day.

I'm sure he needs the cash

Yes. This is not an issue of "Oh, $15 a month is too much money" (well, it IS but that's more of a byproduct).

Though, the $800 offer is from a friend who would basically take over the account but let me have access to Querthose to play him regularly (because he's an astounding human being like that). If I get the BO on the wand, I can definitely take that offer. So maybe things aren't as bleak as they could have been.

I hate Quert in game, but I'll go on record saying don't sell out. The character is an interesting element of GS, which is something that is seldom found these days.

That being said do what you gotta do man. You may regret it for a bit but I'm betting you'll feel relieved thereafter. You are/were a great asset to the sorc community.

I go along with that too, Querthose is about the only elf my Priestess gets remotely uptight over and that in itself is a good thing. I'd hate to see him change.
