New StormFront Encumbrance Window · on 4/25/2007 2:44:50 PM
The encumbrance system has been updated to provide the StormFront FE with a new window (Encumbrance) that tracks and displays your current encumbrance status. The window is accessible from the Windows panel in StormFront and may be resized/hidden, just like any other window. If you are currently logged on and do not see the window, logging off and then re-entering the game (in StormFront) will enable the window.

This is nice. It means I will use encumbrance more as an RP verb than constantly spamming it to ensure I am sufficiently lightened.

It's very nice for when you pick something up and get WTF WEIGHED DOWN.

That's it, I need to figure out how to emulate SF with zMUD.

I like this addition but dammit I am running out of space for windows.
Instead of making more SF windows, how about fixing the ones they already have? (Refering to the container windows refreshing when stolen from.)

I don't use SF, what does this mean?

I think he means that since you can look in your containers all the time in SF, when you get something stolen from you it should reflect it immediately in your bag? That's just my guess.

I just turned this feature off. I tire of having my important windows being pushed off the screen by container windows.

Yeah me too. Best thing I ever did. I i use alot of hidden windows that only appear when i move my mouse on them.
The only things i keep up all the time are combat, deaths, active spells, experience, and encumberance.
Injuries and bounties are hidden. Don't care for too much else.
How does everyone else have it setup?

It means if someone has their container window open, and you steal from it, the window refreshes (reloads) letting the PLAYER know they've been stolen from.
Simu's position on it? "Working as intended".

It should never reflect that something was stolen.
It should refresh only when you actively look in it.
I only run combat & exp windows 99% of the time. As for the stolen from thing in a window that isn't an instant thing, it takes a bit after the theft to show up.

It's a 30 second delay. It's still no less OOC.

I run the health/scars window, the stance window, the exp window, and now the encumbrance window. It is a good setup. At a glance you can see what your character is doing. Also, at the bottom of the screen is the position window (prone, kneeling, poisoned, ect)

That's what I figured, just like the room refreshing when people hide in some rooms, I also think that's a load of garbage.
