So I'm considering getting a graphics tablet for my artistic counterpart. I was looking at the ACECAD Flair II but some research led to mixed reviews, all of them hinting at it being worth its price but not as great as the other models out there. My absolute main concern is that it's compatible with Photoshop and has a high refresh rate.
The Flair II is like $50 and I'm pretty satisfied with that price range. Anything approaching or over $100 isn't really viable on my budget since it's not even for me.

Unless someone comes up with a really good deal I'm actually probably going to go with the Wacom Graphire4.

The bundled software (even though Photoshop is already installed and therefore redundant) is pretty nice and apparently no one has a real problem with it based on its 4.5/5 stars at 71 reviews.

I use a Wacom tablet and it is great.
I would recommend them, although I havent tried any others.
I just bought that exact model from Best Buy two weeks ago. It works great. You don’t even need to set it up for Photoshop. Just start it up, pressure sensitivity is already working, flip the stylus around and the eraser tool is automatically selected. Stylus has 2 buttons, mouse has 2 and scroll wheel and the tablet itself has two and a scroll wheel.
I want to go 6x9 though. 4x5 feels restricted in comparison to using an optical mouse with no boundries.

Mine is A5 size (4.5 X 5.5).
It's quite nice because you can cover the whole screen fairly easily.
I would imagine that would make it quite difficult for the fairly detailed work. I havent really done a great deal of that, but figure that the smaller tablets would be quite clumsy for that.
I want to get a widescreen tablet for my laptop, just because the normal size one is a bit odd, using it on a laptop, and they make widescreen shaped ones.
Yeah, thats my problem. I’m trying to use a 4x5 for my 30” wide screen monitor. In Bob’s case its an excellent deal.
One thing that may not be readily apparent: The tablet itself is 8x8. Its just about typical mouse pad size... but you may need to make some room.
If the same thing applies to the 6x9 that thing has got to be 12x12! Thats a lot of desk space.

Thanks for the input on Wacom. It definitely helped me out: now I wait until I have a reason to bring myself to actually buy it at some point.

Hilariously, a few days ago I was looking through new deals, and a refurbished Wacom Graphire4 was on sale from J&R for $67 shipped so I jumped on it. It'll be delivered on Monday.
Thanks again for the recommendation.

I have the mid-sized Wacom tablet (I think it's a 6x8or something like that). I absolutely love it.
