I can also vouch for the awesomeness of Acer widescreen monitors if that sways anyone's decision. I have an AL2016W, same thing as this one but 20" instead of 19", and it rocks more socks than anything.

I currently use a Samsung 19" that has worked beautifully for me, but recently I've aquired a quarter inch crack in the upper right quadrant of my screen. It's very easy to overlook, but it just bothers me that it's there. I'm pretty sure that when I get home today I'll be buying this Acer monitor to replace it and use the Samsung as a second monitor.

I know, it's sad I don't already have two monitors. My only issue is that this Acer will be widescreen and my Samsung is not. I don't foresee that being too much of problem though. It will just mean I can't get neat dual screen wallpapers. Or maybe I can, we'll see.


Oh and the crack was my own fault and nothing to do with the quality of Samsung products. I just wasn't very careful in the dozens of times I've transported my monitor and tower to my friend's house for "LAN parties".

I use that exact Acer monitor at work, great size and contrast imo. Definately worth it for anyone looking into a new monitor soon, especially at that price.

Depends what you use your computer for... but in most cases I'd say having two monitors is a huge bonus.

Sounds totally geeky, but I spend most of my day watching video lectures on one monitor, and programming on the other monitor. Similarly people can use one monitor for having a bunch of research information displayed, and another monitor for doing analysis/documentation.
