Ok, I'm gonna give this a go. I will be raffling off a Level 58 Half-elf Cleric using Beldin's wheel. He has a fixskill now and will get one in May. He's trained now to use shield and open-hand brawling. He will come equipped with basic 4x gear, some containers and items.

I will attempt to sell 100 tickets, whatever tickets don't sell, the numbers are void. Each ticket will be 200k, or translate for cash at $14 per mil. The spin will take place on Monday, April 30th at 9pm EST. Cash transfers will be paypal only. Winner pays transfer fee.

Ok, I haven't got ANY interest at all, lemme put it this way, if one person buys one ticket, and noone else buys anything. They win, I don't care how many tickets sell, the cleric will be raffled off no matter how low of an amount sell.

You could offer everyone who currently has a slot doubles, and then start selling the slots at 100k a pop, might stir some more interest that way, and everyone who has a slot currently shouldn't complain because their money has netted exactly the same percent of winning (empty slots were getting "eaten"), and if more than (50-current sold) new slots sell, they actually increase their chance of winning compared to previously.

I said more than. If you have one in 51, that's worse than 2 in one hundred.

It's basically the people who have their current bet hedging against more than half the slots selling, and allen is conceding he won't sell more than half at the current price to motivate sale of the other half.

I did say 50-current sold new slots... which was wrong, I should have said if "more than (50-current sold) more would sell without doing this"

Celephais is right, those people that currently have tickets would be have their odds raised, until all 100 sold, at which it would be the same for them.

However, the person losing in the 100k ticket scheme would be Allen.

If he sold all 100, he would net 10 mill.

If he sells anything over 50 tickets at 200k, he's netting more than 10 mill. AND more than likely, a lot of people will buy tickets in the last few moments, when they see that their odds are better than 1 in 100.

I specifically remember Allen saying in the beginning that he's assuming the risk that he may not sell them all.. and if he didn't .. that's his loss. Thus how auctions work.
