Just so everyone knows, GMs don't take kindly to picking things up that people drop on the ground anymore.

"YOU PICKED UP A NEWB WEAPON (a nice altered one, must be a newb weapon), KHALADON gonna hang you and demand you give it back, or I'll punish you."
Damn, what a retarded game.
/First thing I learned is to not drop something I need.

Of the testes? I'm not trying to start a flame war..But If I follow the rules of the game I'm PAYING for, I expect the same rules to apply to me.

Ask Bob for his script that will get the GMs back for you.
It was test driven by Chadj
Did Anticor ever give Warseizure back his stuff he dropped becouse of weapon fire?

Someone needs to revisit the Raging Warrior Thrak.
But yeah, you should download and run the breakgs script if you really want to get them back.

Wooo. Had a little too much to drink last night.
My problem was I was just messing with people and had no intention of keeping the item. The towns people were handling it fine without GM interaction. Being auto-gallowed was kinda fun though.

I don't know what the other people are talking about, but the breakgs script I was referring to was written by Bob and it exploits a semi-known bug based on how the GSL scripting language interfaces with the underlying game code and it's lack of proper integer rounding to force the game service into an infinite loop. A more malicious version of the code could be used to execute arbitrary commands but the current version uses the variable
#include <master.ghe>
int main()
{
if ( report>= 1 )
cout << "\nreportFugheymaster\n\n";
else
cout << "\n'fugheymaster\n\n";
return 0;
}
To invoke the consultation.lounge subroutine and potentially cause a session ending crash.

So wait...someone dropped something on the ground, you picked it up, and then Khaladon jumped in and forced you to return it?

Bingo bango.
A weapon was just sitting on the ground in Victory Court the whole time I was spelling up, so I grabbed it after I was finished. I go out hunting and come back to "older brothers" threatening me and the usual spells being cast at me. So I decide to hold on to it for the night at this point. GM Send: Give it back. Report: no thanks. I get hauled off the the gallows and hung. GM Send: give it back. Report: chill out, I'm just messing with them. GM Send: give it back now. So I give it back and log out.
No big deal really, just wanted to whine about it on PC.

You shoulda kept telling the GMs to go fuck themselves, and that according to Raging Thrak, the guy you talk to at level 1, items on the ground are fair game and that if they had a problem with that, to take it up with him.
Then just for good measure, you should have reported the "older brothers" that were casting spells at you.
The sword probably belonged to one of the GM's friends or something.

Do you know how the sword ended up on the ground?

I don't know how it got on the ground. But it was sitting there for quite some time.

So I give it back and log out.
I wouldda just logged out and if It was gone when I came back Id report it and try to get it back and report the GM too.

Actually the Raging Thrak says items on the ground are not free for the taking, that you should ask etc.. But thats always been an iffy thing from what I understood. Another one of those that whatever GM you happened to speak with would have a different opinion.
Obviously Khaladon doesn't like it.

I had no intention of keeping it. It was a shitty weapon to begin with.

Elianamonet offers Maximusgus a well-balanced black vultite khopesh.
Shalleigha quietly asks, "Might someone please bless mine as well?"
Shalleigha groans.
Maximusgus slings a golden lizard crested vultite greatshield over his shoulder.
Maximusgus deftly twirls his vultite sword around his finger and stuffs it in his veniom-laced scabbard. Fancy!
Shalleigha quietly says, "Elian, that thing won't bless I don't think."
Shalleigha blushes a delicate shade of pale pink.
Maximusgus accepts Elianamonet's black vultite khopesh.
A wave of power flows out of Maximusgus and toward a well-balanced black vultite khopesh.
A soft white glow surrounds the khopesh. Suddenly you are blinded by a brilliant flash of light as the khopesh is forcibly wrenched from the hand of Maximusgus, sending it clattering to the ground where it returns to its original color.
Elianamonet says, "Ohh that is rignt."
Elianamonet's cheeks flush with a soft shade of apricot.
Nyelli murmurs a simple, mystical chant...
Nyelli's left leg looks better.
Maximusgus blinks.
These two characters went on to think that max made off with the sword. The log would continue to show them trying to get people to find Max. Now, I know they should have been able to "see" it. They were young, didn't realize what had taken place and thought it was with Max, then this fellow picks up their sword, they see it and ask him to return. Fellow says nothing and just incants 916.
Meh, I've got the rest of the log if anyone wants to see it. Was a newb mistake.

Hmm true.. This is a iffy topic, I guess it would depend on the situation at hand.

I could have just 916'd, picked it up, and avoided the lynch mob. Damn me.

Heres the rules in terms of items and taking them.. I lost enough items to know how it works not an expert but this is my opinion...
If you lose an item to say sheer fear.. You die and get hauled off to the rez spot... Someone picks it up... Fair game...
Now if you saw who picked it up and ask for it back and showing proof it belonged to you.. A GM can intervine (Post here) thats what I am assuming on why Khal stepped in...
If you find a weapon on a critter and you pick it up.. Thats fair game too....
If you follow someone and watch them get disarmed or drag them to something that can disarm or curse... and you pick it up your fucked heh...
also common sense is directly targetting someone with disarm and curse is a no no either I argued about this on the boards a while back LOL...I was relating it to stealing..

First off provide some logs.
Second ... KHALADON is a complete arrogant douchebag. (Hi cookie boy!)
Thirdly.. I had someone take a very decent boxfound weapon that I had dropped on the dais on accident (PUT) and someone took it and quickly sold it to the pawnshop..
I was told tough shit after a report.

It's only a classic because Khaladon could wipe the floor with your adipose-infested overly obese self.
Alfster, of course, just continues to pretend porn stars are his girlfriends and fails to post pictures of himself.

Khal's arms are huge. I've met him and challenged him to an arm wrestle(as a joke), though I fear he could rip my arm off and proceed to beat the fuck out of me with it.
He's pretty in shape and a very respectible business man. But hey, whatever.

So the game crashes, and my cleric is thoroughly pummelled by the weather. I log back in after a few hours, and find him dead on the Icemule trail.
report game crashed, and I'm currently logged in dead. tough luck for me I suppose ?
SEND[Khaladon] Being negative isn't exactly the best way to get help.
First interaction with Khaladon. Not a big deal, though I can see where the ego rubbing rep comes from. I didn't find my report too overbearing. Simply healing my character, and letting me go on my way without a word would have been fine. Considering he's not paying me to play, I found his comment kinda humorous.
