What effects aiming? Is it ambush, preception, or both?
Also at how many ranks will I be hitting where im aiming at almost everytime?
Firing from the open: Perception skill
Firing from hiding: Ambush skill
Having a sighted bow helps too.
For a rogue I prefer 2x ambush ranks and at the very least 2x perception.

Ahh okay is there any benefit to hiding while fireing a bow besides they cant hit you? Is there anything that helps with hitting them, Heres what happens. I 2x in Ambush Hiding and Preception
From hiding in defense.
AS: +131 vs DS: +198 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +80 = +42
offense
AS: +288 vs DS: +192 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +52 = +177
From In Open in Defense
AS: +131 vs DS: +204 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +22 = -22
Offense
AS: +288 vs DS: +197 with AvD: +29 + d100 roll: +75 = +195
The whole purpose of hiding and shooting is so you wont get hit. An added bonus is when someone walks in and sees an arrow come out of the shadows and eye crits the target.
There are times when I fire from the open, usually when my target is stunned. But because I hunt in spell burst areas where if you're in the open you'll get nailed by ambushing critters as well as insta-cast upon, being in the open is not the best hunting strategy for someone wearing very little magical defensive protection.
* Make sure you are AIMing at a particular body part (eyes preferably) when you shoot. Otherwise you'll go through copious amounts of arrows just randomly shooting.

Also, don't forget the DS push-down when firing from hiding!:nono:
