Anyone know the viability of this build?
2x shield
2x polearm
2x dodge
2x CM
1x Ambush
1x MoC
2.5x PT
That would adequately create a spartan warrior, i'd believe...ala 300.
Anyone think it could work? Also, what would be a background you could give this warrior, to adapt a spartan's history to a group in Elanthia?

I think you need some armor ranks.

It could work. Since you're not going to have any armor, though, you're going to have to concentrate on never getting hit. If you get hit, it will suck, redux or not. I'd get berserk for my first guild skill.
I'd lean towards 3x dodge, parry and block mastery, all that shit.

They're also good with a sword and throwing spears. Ask the rhino.

I've had a similar build with my warrior for a while about a year ago.
3x shield (tower; 3x bmastery)
2x poles (spear)
1x dodge
2x PT
2x CM
40 Ambush
30 MoC
Worked out great.

I think I only had MBP instead of Full plate though.

Spartans wore rigid leather. Good luck with that.

I thought the historical spartans had all sorts of armor. Frank Miller described them as "beetles" with all their armor but decided not to draw them as such.

Steel armour didn't really exist until the roman times, simply because of it's weight and difficulty to manufacture, and even then it was rare. Prior to that it was mainly leather with bronze adornment (such as helm and guards).

The Spartans all died and went beyond the Ebon gate. Why would you want to be them?

Historical Spartans definitely didn't have late medieval European rigid metal armor...
...but there can't be a historical Spartan in GS anyway.
Vaalor elves love armor (and being wimps), I don't see any reason to avoid MBP.

I wonder how long before some tard starts an OOC whining thread on the officials over a Sparta character.

IMO, Ta'Vaalor = Sparta
>say =shout :vicious ::emis THIS! IS! VAALOR!
Speaking viciously to a Turamzzyrian emissary, you shout, "THIS! IS! VAALOR!"
>kick emis
You attempt to kick a Turamzzyrian emissary!
MB: 204 vs MB: 22 = 182 -- Gain advantage!
Movement is a blur! Outflanked opponent.
THT 52, d100 roll: 42, modified: 224
and hits for 34 points of damage!
... +8 extra hits. Flying kick to body knocks foe down.
Foe is stunned and loses parry.

Damn it, I thought this was going to be a post about Halo 3, fuggit.
Anyway, you should probably use a vorpal waraxe on some dark-tinted spectacle alter-wearing non-conformist self serving Dark Elven crybabies, just to be on the safe side.
You're definitely going to need brawling to knock mofos down wells, so I'd say trade in the pole arms for Twin Hammerfists'o The Pit III MK doomage.

Yup, while Spartans appeared to have heavy metal armor, it was actually very hard leather armor chased/plated in bronze or steel.
And Vaalor kick ftmfw.
