So I've dumped Feint, and picked up toughness, which leaves me with no CM points. Just wondering what folks would think to go to next. I'm not interesting in most maneuvers like sucker punch/groin kick et al, as I can induce rt, knock prone, or stun my targets without them.

Here's what I have:
Shadow Mastery 5
Specialization I 5
Combat Mobility 2
Combat Toughness 3
Surge of Strength 5

Was thinking maybe precision, as it costs no stamina. Would always crushing/piercing/slashing with a two-handed weapon (greatsword or claidh) be worthwhile?

Thinking of disarm for higher levels, simply for defense.

Any other thoughts?

Precision would be worthwhile if you could ambush with it. Can you open ambush with precision? If that's the case than crush only would be excellent with a claid.

Nah, no targetting at all. I was thinking about it as I tend to only ambush once, then finish off with a single open hit.

Albeit, I haven't played in years save for starting a brand new rogue a few days ago, but Cheapshots look very useful because of the broad range of skills/choices it gives you in one CMan. I know rogues get some of that naturally through the guild and with ambushing, but if nothing else, might be fun to use on friends...

I've been trying to decide what I want to go with myself, all of these sound fun and useful without overkill of what I can already do as a spec'd ambushing rogue.

Cheapshot
Combat Mob
Combat Tough
Dirtkick
Feint
SMastery
Stun Manuvers

you'll definitely want 3 ranks of disarm when you start hunting OTF...even with that a good open roll puts my waraxe on the ground.

Skill name Mnemonic Ranks
Combat Movement cmovement 5
Combat Focus focus 5
Disarm Weapon disarm 3
Specialization I wspec1 5
Specialization II wspec2 5
Specialization III wspec3 5
Surge of Strength surge 5

Available Combat Maneuver Training Points: 20

I went with 3 specs because I want to be able to use short swords/daggers when I'm heavy. That and there's not a lot of need for the other stuff when you're not a CvC type.

I would suggest going full out in the guild, then you won't be using cman points to buy skills that you can get in the guild, that and it means that you would yeild more cman type skills overall.

Sure...minus subdue and LM, if you're not a picker. Kneebash is awesome in OTF on the seers, adepts, initiates and heralds if you're spec'd. I stopped sweeping along time ago, but it's still a nice skill to have in your back pocket.

Kneebash is also very effective and grounding Griffins for some odd reason.

Yup, once they attack...but at that point it's ambush head...kill...or mame. The only thing that griffins mean to me, until I get my MOC ranks, is a DS push or RT from that damnable screech.

I still think that screech is rediculously over-powered. That's just MHO tho.

I'm not sure why you all are getting rank 5 on wspec. The return is pretty shitty.

10 CMan points for only +2 AS and CML? I always stopped at rank 3 and got other things I found more useful.

I really liked dirtkick when uphunting because it can be used in defensive at full strength, reduces EBP (great for uphunters), lowers perception, lowers their AS, and it's only a 3 RT maneuver. Nothing sucks more than setting your opponent up and then they EBP your attack.

Also, three ranks of Combat Focus helps if you're a touch low on TD.

Just getting +2 to your AS as a rogue is hard. I swing at 579 with surge up, and without 211, 215, 606, and 307, that's good enough for the barrier.

Ambush push for us rogues is great if you've completed the training.

Granted EBP sucks, but if you ward their spells, or hide before they can cast, better off.

I don't know much about uphunting anymore, when I uphunted, I limited myself to constructs, heralds, scouts, janisaries and initiates. I ran like hell from seers because of the dispell and griffins because of the high AS and DS push they got.

Silly question, what's EBP?
