>enc
Your load is a bit heavy, but you feel confident that the weight is not affecting your actions very much.

>assess breast
You assess the breastplate for structural weaknesses and strengths.

Careful examination indicates the black steel breastplate has a base strength of 60 and a base durability of 475. You also determine the current integrity of the black steel breastplate to be at 100.0%.
You examine the breastplate closely and you don't note anything.

Roundtime: 24 sec.

insp breast
You carefully inspect your black steel breastplate.

Your careful inspection of a sturdy black steel breastplate allows you to conclude that it is plate armor that covers the torso only.

You determine that you could wear the breastplate around your chest.

It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of steel.

Try it wearing strength and see if it gets lower. Then you can narrow down the possibilities?

I have changed armor from a lighter to a heavier as well before. I noticed an increase of RT for a hunt or two. Then it went back down to where it should be. I always thought of it as "getting used to the new armor". I may be way off, but try hunting with it for an hour and see if it goes back down.

Are you wearing a helm or any other type of aux armor?

I would bet aux armor like El Burro mentioned. The other possibility is that you're migrating skills and don't know it. Can you do a skills base? Three seconds could be the difference between MBP rt and full plate rt (which you'd get with a helm) or the difference between brig and MBP rt assuming you're still migrating armor ranks and actually only trained for brig.
