Anyone able to tell me how weapon hurling roundtime is calculated? Or where I could find this info?

Grab a handfull of pennies, throw them in the air, as your cat looks on fascinated, kick the pussy across the room. Count the number of times it bounces off the walls, divide this by 8 and raise it to the power of 4.6
That is your RT when using the thrown skill.
In other words, they have it all fucked up, and just to make sure it was fucked up, they fucked Surge.
Welcome to the end.

Bit curious on this myself now.
Whats the fastest you can hurl a dagger? Whats it take to get it there? Strength is the main thing on RT for hurling right? It go by the same thing as archery? every ten bonus gives -1 RT?

From what I understand, hurling is utterly useless unless you have one of those bandoliers. Even then, its so tough because you don't get parry. A warrior could do decent, if he trained in OHE, AND trained in hurling, so he could at least get parry.

Unaimed, the fastest you can throw anything is 3 seconds. Aimed is 4.
Be sure to click the banner below and go into the guides section to read Tep's full guide he created.

"utterly useless" is simply an overstatement.

If you're asking about single weapon hurling, check out this link, http://www.gsguide.net/thrownfaq.html. The round time associated for single weapon hurling depends on a few factors, whether or not it was meant to be hurled, dexterity bonus, agility bonus, strength bonus, actually being fully trained for your armor, encumberance, weapon weight, etc. All of the numbers associated with weapons meant to be hurled are detailed in the guide. It should be noted that all the testing was done with off the shelf weaponry from the local weapon shops, so there will be some variance if your weapon is significantly heavier or lighter than the norm.
If you're asking about two weapon hurling, well, there's no set formula. It's all fucked up. As far as weapons not meant to be hurled, I have numbers for most of them, but I've been far too lazy to post them.

See, Latrin and I can agree sometimes!!
Before the Surge changes, I would say it was pretty stand alone if you did TWC, but the issues with RT, TWC and encumberance just make it too much of a headache.
I am sure once things are caught up goal wise and they have tike, they will try to fix some things. But we have no clue when that can be. I wouldn't expect any earlier than mid 2008 if not 2009.

Hurling = pointless as a secondary style. The surge changes really made it undoable with pole's now.
Unless you have a returner or endless weapon sheath, it's really a crap, inefficient and frustrating weapon style.

My rogue does OHE/hurling and parries fine with his handaxe in hand. He has a bandolier, though.

Was thinking about buying the dagger bandolier. Can't figure out how much of a loss in hunting ability I would take over using archery though.

Daggers are the RP choice to throw. Mechanically, archery does backflips over thrown.

Thats what I figured. Just looking for an easier way to level a wizard without using bolt spells. Too mana intensive. Wish you could aim bolt spells. Should be able to... you can aim bout anything else. Plus you have to train in SPELL AIMING!
Anyhow, I figured I would try and test out the hurling thing since a bandolier is like 1/3 the price of a good unlimited ammo/permablessed bow.

If you want to do some good testing, get a bag full of like 20 ebladed daggers and go out and cause some chaos. That will give you a good idea of thrown with a bandolier. If you like it, grab that bandie!!
