View Full Version : A magnificent spinel-set lor runestaff

I'm trying to send my son to a private school, so I'm attempting to liquidate everything of value I have and turn it into cash. This means my old GSIV account and the items on it.
Won from the Erithian auction way-back-when, this runestaff is +25 with all of the rarity that is lor.
A magnificent spinel-set lor runestaff: Small four-petalled flowers carved from scarlet and cobalt blue spinel ornament the slim shaft of silvery lor. The runestaff grows thinner in one direction and broader in another as it reaches its apex, much like the shift of form in a human femur, and then a dark violet cabochon star sapphire rests in a hole bored straight through the head of the staff. Arcane runes circle the sapphire and ring each of the faceted spinel flowers.

yeah, because it's a very well done portrait by a good friend of mine Naomi Chan.
Also, the only reason I relate to any of you mongs in the first place is through gemstone, so I'm not going to try and be a rebel like everyone else.

I once thought 25million for a rare wood like lor (or glowbark) was completely reasonable.
The problem was...no one else did. Ah, my 25million, I remember it well.
Now I live in a van down by the river.

Thing is, the material really doesn't matter as concerning the rarity of the alteration. There are quite a few GM's who used to alter just about anything(Balouga).
The only alteration I have ever seen go for 25-30m, is actually what I traded for the lantern I just sold. It was "A Shadowy Grim Reaper's cloak" with a huge ass description. Basically, the only stuff really rare in today's market is stuff that just won't happen.
For instance, my ten year old symbol, this one breaks three alteration rules in one item!
an ominous night-black onyx jackal symbol inset with eerie ruby eyes suspended from a fine black ora chain

You must know nothing of how lor works? You can't simply get an alteration for it, and it's only released in very limited quantities. It's the rarest runestaff material out there and very tight with the Faendryl lore. You couldn't even get lor with the high-enchant exchange.
Mute point anyways, there's a discussion for a buy out - but it includes some items in trade. I'm still interested in a straight cash or silver offer more than I am for other goods.
It's not the alteration that's worth the amount. It's the base material being lor that makes it as valuable as it is.

Hey Mykill, why don't you logon? You can play tiddlywinks in the cell the GM put you in.
You were a retard for attacking me a second time after you already had to use your capped character Kaege when you couldn't finish the job last time.
But even then, I doubt much would have happened to you, fortunately you whispered profanity to me, and that sealed your fate dumbass.

2. kaege wasn't mine when I guess he did kill you, it was so long ago, I forgot why I'm even killing your ass, apparently your life is so empty you remember it well
3. I've been logged in, and it doesn't look like a cell to me
4. even if you blew one of the GM's and I did get locked out, it wouldn't matter because my accounts will be shut down on the 9th for the summer anyway, so keep living in your fantasy land of retardation

I don't know what the fuck happened to the discipline system in gemstone, but it used to be if someone engaged with you in unwanted pvp, and you reported a GM handled that pretty much immediately.

What all this comes down to is the fact that simu has laxed their enforcement unbelievably in the past three years to make up for cancelled accounts. It's really ashame because this kind of thing has driven virtually all the excellent roleplayer's away.
It's really ashame, because the strict policies, and enforcement of a positive roleplaying environment is what drew a lot of us to this game in the first place. Now all I'm seeing is a game that caters to everyone.
Sadder even yet is that despite whether my reaction was acceptable or not. I most likely won't get in trouble because I've paid for a character restoral, 2 ebon's gate ticket's, and a platinum account. they wouldn't want to lsoe business after all.

First of all, there are a LOT of great roleplayers left in Gemstone. I can name off quite a few without thinking too hard about it.
Secondly, I am really sorry, but your ideas of good roleplay must differ drastically from mine, because WARN interacting someone and then murdering them because a GM didn't get back to you within 12 hours is not what I call roleplay. It's called snertism, and you my dear, seem to have it rather bad.
You're right though, some of the game's really great roleplayers have left and cancelled/sold their accounts. But there are others taking their place, just like it has been happening for years. It's a cyclic thing, and it will continue to happen.

I'm not sure if Stunseed is a real character name or just something you use on these boards so I won't say I've never heard of you.I think I roleplay fairly well I think. I've spent a lot of time fine-tuning my character, and I have recieved compliments from nearly every person that I respected as a roleplayer, and believe me their validation is about 10 times as important to me as the boulderling's who think reporting unconsented PvP violence is "the pussy card"
However, during the first week I was back is when Mykill pulled his little 2 characters attack stunt (neiter of which I had any clue as to who they were besides a price gouger) and he did this in heartstone courtyard, a place which used to be somewhere that you could just walk into, and engage in excellent roleplay, everyone who went there did so just to roleplay and always brougt their "A" game. since that day I don't even bother putting my heart into roleplaying in the landing unless it is with someone who has shown me a spark.

I haven't been a Sheruvian priest FOR 10 YEARS, NO ONE CAN TELL ME I'M NOT A GOOD RP'ER.....You constantly force conflict, in multiple occasions, in front of more than one of my characters, and yet when it is time for your character to reap what he sows it is always cowering behind a warn.
If you do prevail, you do some stupid forced messaging like pulling someone's teeth while dead. You're not a dentist, and quite frankly it makes me laugh how often you'll pull the Soulpieced rule on the officials and here on PC.

Meh, after watching some GM intervene in his fights about a week ago, I'm convinced that someone is doing so. Whether or not it's a majority thing, I would have to agree most GM's think he is a problem-maker, considering the huge "I HATE GRHIM" thread on the officials within a month of him reactivating.

Conflict is the heart of good roleplay. I have no problem reaping what I sow if it is done in a roleplayed manner.

While I recognize and also respect the roleplay of a few of those you listed, there are FAR far more than just those. It is too bad that my own personal interaction with you, as well as what I have witnessed your character do in more than a few situations, leads me to believe that your idea of 'A game' is forcing your actions upon others through the excuse of how long you've roleplayed a priest of Sheru, and when things do not go as you planned, you use a WARN. This is not considered 'A game' to me, and I would give examples such as Mekthros, Wulfhen, Sephir, Nevrek, Querthose, Licel, Divid, Siwas, Maimara, and multiple others who play dark characters who are capable of dealing with the conflict associated with those characters without using WARN or spouting off about how long they have played those characters in that role.
(that doesn't include characters such as Turinrond, and many others who are not necessarily 'dark' characters but also deal with conflict without having to use your tactics)
Edited to add that acting out pulling someone's teeth out while they are dead, even if you do have some 'tooth pullers' is still forcing your actions upon another. There is a policy set forth against that for a reason. Unless the person you did that to consented to you doing so beforehand, then what you did was in poor taste and considered forcing your actions on others. That is directly in line with what I've seen you do in my personal experience, as well.
I'd also like to say that perhaps the reason you haven't seen many of the great roleplayers out there are because they don't normally deal with people who force their RP on others and hide behind WARN when things don't go as planned. Food for thought?

Of course it's not a complete list of people I respect, I named four people as examples. What's funny is that most every player on your list has interacted with me in the past, and would vouch for my roleplaying ability. You know what else? Most players on that list wouldn't hesitate for a minute to report unwanted PvP.
I've NEVER reported/warned anyone who has had conflict with me that was roleplayed. I however have no hesitation in reporting someone who attacks me for something out of character, or because they don't like something I said on psinet.
I challenge you to give one example of me reporting someone who is actually roleplaying conflict. I doubt you can though since I haven't had one roleplayed conflict since I've returned.
As far as forcing actions, I spoke with a GM concerning this a few years back, and it is acceptable. My character is not forcing them to do anything, he is doing something well within his power to a corpse. If I did something like (Grhim grabs Jolena by her hair, and shoves his tooth-puller into her mouth ripping a tooth out) that would be act abuse since it is a situation where you would be able to respond to several different parts of that. However if you were dead there would be point in which you could respond, tus it is acceptable.

well since your basing this on what a dead person can and cannot do...THen how come corpses can talk? perserve the body from decaying? use a symbol of need while dead?
obviously this is a fantasy game, and you can do things you can't normally do, hence you are FORCING yourself in a RP situation when some may not want it done.
