I'm starting a rogue to play with my wizard. I'm simply addicted to multiboxing (can't stand only doing one thing at once). And i'm wondering what build would work particularly well. I'd like to be able to pick any boxes we get, and assist the wizard with legging, and stuff like that. What sort of weapons should i use, blunts / daggers / 2h / something else? Also is TWC worth it if im going to be glowing with a full set of wizard buffs and haste?

The key is the rogue needs to be able to pick what we get, and be able to hang with the wizard in terms of what we hunt together.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I always thought Archery and Lockpicking was the easiest on the TP expenditures because of the overlap between perception.

You have to lay off the CMs, PT and only 1x armor for a while to fit in the Minor Elemental spell training for 404 but I found you don't really need heavier armors at lower levels anyway.

Both Wizard and Rogue relying on ranged attacks means you won't even need to bother waiting for the creatures to stance, you can just start plinking away.

Seems good, but isent it kind of cumbersome use ranged attacks, having to load arrows and collect after combat, but I like the idea

Write a little script to do it, easy as cake. I second the ranged for the reason that you'll 3x perception for ranged and picking, plus there's the "no incumberance factor" to his RT for attacking.

Buffed up little rogue should train as fast or faster than the wizard, as long as stats are good.

Its one macro for shooting arrows
\rget 1 arrow\r fire\r

And one macro to clean up post-combat
\rgather arrow\r put arrow in arrow in my quivr\r

Crossbows are stupid difficult to use on the fly.

.k

put stance o
put get one arrow
put fire %1
pause 3 (unless hasted)
put stance d

usage: .k orc
different method, same result

Sounds good and I guess that'll make it a bit easier on the TPS, to 2.5x-3x picking etc. I dont think i'll be ambushing much (outside of open air ambushing), so would it still be worth it to train stalk and hide and ambush (I thought ambush had something to do with my AS or DS when using a ranged weapon).

it does but i think not until later levels. Some ranged person should chime in here pretty soon to confirm and give us all the good numbers and stuff.

If your rogue is goign to be a MA rogue, then chances are your wizard will be growing at a faster rate. I would recommend a basic ohe/shield build with 3x lock/trap 1x cm, 1x dodge, 2x ambush, 2x or better hiding, and spells to 404. Its easy to script and safe since he'll have a high DS and consistant AS for legging.

Thats my recommendations.

Well the wizard is already 21 so he spends his nights at a table with a script to buff the scripting rogue. but once they get togeater they can hopefully hunt in the same group so they should be going at about the same pace. Ive got a few triggers and scripts that'll let the rogue attack whatever the wizard is blasting and vice versa, i like the idea of range because I don't have to stance dance as much, but they will primarily be playing togeater, so think if the rogue could be hasted all the time kind of thing etc.

In this situation, you'll pretty much have to work to make your rogue not good, so get your picking and stuff and then just go buckwild.
