Without using the commerical programs that will allow one to access their home PC from a remote workstation, what is the safest/securest method of accessing my home PC from work?

This is so I can help answer questions/fix problems from the mrs. when she's having trouble running/working school stuff at home without doing the phone walk-through helpdesk method.

My main concern is that I do not want to create a backdoor to my home PC and create a vulnerability.

Any thoughts?

Make sure you get v1.0.2 and work for a company with an incompetent IT staff.
