:help: Okies folks I need alil help here. I have played several of the proffessions now so I have a good idea about the game. Now I need help in picking out the best Proffession to make my new character, the one I'm hopeing to take to 100. Im looking for one that can go on long hunts (longest hunts that you can think of) one that will be very self sufficent. is this just a dream or can it be made?...you dont have to lay everything out ill go to that proffessions site to do the research there....just need the start off Thanks:thanx:
If you want the profession that can hunt the longest you'll want either a spell caster (can hunt for extended periods of time when mana concerns are addressed) or an archer. Neither of these are as affected by encumbrance as weapon swingers.

Archer rogue. You can hunt at long as you want, don't have to sweat encumberance increasing your RT, and don't have to worry about instant death if your spells melt unless you're hunting WAY over your head. The guild skills like stunman and sweep help, and combat mobility and mfire are definite cmans to have.

Saying encumbrance isn't as much of a problem for a spellcaster is a little disingenuous if we're talking about across the spectrum of the game.
I'm a little confused as to the purpose of this character, though. Why would you want to go on especially long hunts? If it's for the cash, why would you want to get to level 100 rather than simply purchasing a level 100 character?
In any event, I strongly recommend that you pick a hunting style that you personally find enjoyable. Any profession can be entirely self-sufficient with an appropriate training plan and skill level. You have to go out of your way to make an unviable character.

I think empath would be your best bet personally.
Archer rogues are nice, but one hit to your arm, or two minors in the same spot, and your hunt is over. Unless you like hauling around herbs.
The most self sufficient profession in my opinion would be an empath, since they can heal themselves.
They get out of alot of jams with 213, 220, or 1120.
You can always heal others to get extra experience real easy.
You can open most of your own boxs if you know what your doing.
Empath would have been my second choice behind a rogue. As AD mentioned above, they can be very self sufficient. Not to mention with the bevy of offensive spells they've been granted the past few years, they are quite the hunters if trained correctly. The only downside is mana availability and a reduction in ability when spells drop.

Thirded or fourth'd on rogues. I'm actually enjoying poking around gs a little again. I also have found, for whatever reason, that I don't have the anamosity toward the rogue guild that I had toward the warrior guild. That might just be me.

With the guildx script, the rogue guild is way more tolerable. ;)

I got that script last night, but I haven't used it yet. I'm just really enjoying lock mastery (I'm probably deep down somewhere a masochist).

Rogue is the most self-sufficient class in the game. So I guess you want an archer rogue, like many others have said before me.
