So i have ad-aware and spybot, i used them to remove bad stuff

But once in a while, i get a pop up, like that.

Even if explorer isn't open, every now and then a pop up appears.

How can I stop that?

Have you just gotten broad band? Or something of the like? I discovered this via my parents computer a while ago. Are you running windows XP?

Are you getting windows popup errors? If you are, disable netsend. There are some advertisements sent through that now. If you need help doing that, u2u me.

Has anyone else been getting a lot more random porn IM's lately? Seems like in the last 2 weeks the amount of them I've been getting has skyrocketed.

Not porn, but I'm getting spammed alot more than I used to. Free drugs...yada yada.. Plus, freaking telemarketers are driving me nutz!!!

A little tip on telemarketers(I have a friend who is one)

If you simply hang up on them, they put you on a "could not reach" list, and don't call back until they re-do their original lists.

I'd try putting part of the exact string you get from the popups into google. You might come up with a fix if it's bugged enough people. I just "fixed" my girlfriend's AIM virus like that last night.

Lots of spam via AIM the last few days..YES! I when to a friends house for 5 hours, came back, and BAM, I had like 10 IM's from people I don't even know telling me about all these cool porn websites..Gods its annoyin. I warned them all, pushing their warn %'s to over 50 each. Heh. Not that it matters, I'm sure they change SN's every 50 IM's or so.

As for the pop up thing. You might have the netmessage thing still enabled on your computer. Its a small program built into WinXP to allow a network admin to send a network wide message to let people know important things (Ie, the server will be down for an hour for a system upgrade, etc etc.). But Microsoft, in their WONDERFUL glory, packaged the software with this auto set to on. 99.99% of the public population has NO need for this program to be running. Thats how your getting spammed ad's. You need to turn that off. As soon as I remember how, I'll let you know.. Heh.
