this isn't a for-sure thing, but it might become so. i guess it could be said that i'm entertaining offers.

i've got a level 63 female elven bard. she'd come with 6x eahnor augmented chain with matching 7x eahnor pike, altered sonic brigandine, a snake wand, a buttload of rare/nice clothes, and about 35m in liquid silver. i'm not a master character builder, of course, but she hunts the keen regularly with little trouble provided one is quick on the draw with 1005 and sometimes 1030.

she's got a rep, dur, but i don't know if that helps or hinders character sales. if you just want an inconspicuous bard to do loresinging and gem purifying, someone else would be cheaper.

If this is a character you've put a lot of time in you might not get the kind of money you are looking for, especially if you sell her with the items on her.

i'm not looking for thousands, heh. mostly i just... feel the need to leave gs and if i can get some money out of it, so much the better. if i sell this character that i have put time into, then there'll be so much less temptation to come back.

if you wanna maximize profits, sell it all separate, ask $400 on the bard, the demand for them is high, you'll get it

I should really sell my 100 ranger since I don't play anymore, and hate Simu's charade of having a ban on selling items/characters.

As Allen stated, itemize your liquidation or base your overall price off the itemization...

Character - $400+
6x Armor - $45 (3m at $15 per)
7x pike - $75-90 (5m-6m)
35m - $525 (at $15 per million)
misc. gear/alters - $30 (2m at $15 per)

Total - $1,090.00

Thats a rough estimate assuming max price on pike and misc. gear. Hard to put a price on the sonic armor alter since not everyone uses sonic armor with bards. That might squeeze a little more out of the character price, but not by much (meaning over $50 add).

Other things affecting price:

1. Reputation/popularity
2. Official record/warnings
3. Deeds
4. Stats/skills/society
5. Fixskills isnt much of an option since we're coming up on the annual renewal.
6. Bounty point accumulation (9m for every 250k pts = $270)
7. Premium points??? (price for this varies, since its at 1000 there's probably not much demand except for maybe an alteration, so give it 1m/$15)

DCSL

ah, forgot some of that stuff.. only 1000 on premium points because i spent most of them already, heh, but over 500k in bounty points.

Just go on a killing spree until you're permabanned. It'll be much more satisfying.

gear/silvers totalling about 500.00-600.00 (more depending on what you got for clothing/containers etc)
character/points totalling about 400.00-500.00

To Max your $$.. I recommend selling off your silver

and then sell the character with gear/points...

if your lucky you'll get about 1000.00-1200.00 out of it...

If this was well thought out character with RP/History/whatnot I recommend keeping it.. Since theres no value that will equal your time... Well least not with how GS is now...

I'd be glad to buy that pike off you for silvers or cash. I've been looking for a 7x polearm but can't find much. PM me if you're interested.

Does Simutronics actually have something somewhere stating they do not allow character sales?

you can sell on ebay if you have more then 100 positive feedback

? Ebay will pull items like this now. How would 100 feedback affect ebay though?

is this true? If so, how did you find out? I see portous has a couple listings on there and he had over 100 feedback, maybe he's right

This makes me SO sad. While we don't agree on everything, your character is so well played, I'd hate to see her taken over by someone who just buys her for a utility character. Ugh, or worse yet, someone who just wants to own her to own her.

I'd say sell items, sell other stuff, but not the character, she's too much of you.

You'll never get enough cash for that character to warrant your time and emotional investment. I definitely understand, recognize, relate to the want/need.

But, it's pennies on the dollar. Sell the items, archive the character. Wait a year. If after a year you still feel the same way, then sell the character.

Gan

You'll never 'break even' with the sale of your accumulated items or posessions to make up for the time and effort of advancing your level of gameplay to what it is now. Mostly because you can not realisticaly pin a finite amount to your utility (enjoyment).

However, if you are serious about walking away from the game. And now, knowing what you know about the value of the game items (character included) will have in the gemstone aftermarket, can you seriously consider leaving that money (any money) on the table?

Hard to consider eh?

If you really want to leave for good, you have to sell your main, if you keep her around, there's a great chance you'll get bored one day and re-open.

i haven't totally decided to sell out all the way. it'll probably take me a week or so to fully make up my mind. either way, my character will be in another's hands or so completely stripped that i won't want to play gs anymore, which is one of my main goals.

Obviously she can't go on without me around and she needs the cash to move next door and be my BFF.

And as someone who has sold out, when you are done, you're done and the cash compensation that was just bits of virtual text works wonders for paying the rent or for various higher education expenses.

DCSL

oh yez, i must go where my hunny goes.

really, it's got many reasons behind it. the first and foremost is that in the last 6 months or so, i've made some severely bad choices and not only are they already coming back to bite me on the ass, i'm fairly sure it'll only get worse with time. so i need to get out while the getting is good. maybe by the time the worst happens, i'll be so completely out of gs that i won't care.

second, gs has finally, after years, begun to affect my real life in terms of school work, stress, emotional stability, et cetera. i worry more about various storylines than i do an exam in hematology. i find myself getting worked up over the stupidest of things, beyond all rational recall. that's bad, mmkay.

the third reason is that i need new power tools for when my hand heals. i left almost all but the basics in austin with friends. i need more than a hand-held electric saw, a drill, a power screwdriver, and a hammer. i want a double bevel compound miter saw with laser system.

StrayRogue
