Don't forget to change the clocks for your congress approved DST!

I actually woke up right before 2am this morning and was about to go back to sleep when I noticed my computer clock said it was past 3:00. I was frantically trying to figure out how I just did literally nothing in a full hour, and then when I realized it was DST I frowned really hard.

Fucking hell. At least all my electronics seemed to put themselves forward an hour.

But now I've lost an hour in which to write this advocacy memo.

NERF!!!!!111111one.

And it gives me less of an excuse not to get an early start on hiking because of it being too cold after school'n'work.

I was wondering how I slept for 12 hours. 11 is much more reasonable.

What's the point of it being so early this year?

Same reason they do it in the first place... save money/energy/etc.

EDIT: Specifically...

Yup, basically, power companies can continue to fuck us over, so congress lets the light stay out later during tougher months power wise for the majority of the US to conserve lights.

BUT IT'S NOT MY FUCKING 70 WATT LIGHTBULB KILLING ME MOTHER FUCKERS> NO!!! IT'S THE COCKSUCKING GAS BILL FOR HEAT!

Stanley Burrell

In retrospect, the AC bills should be inversely cheaper.

Not really at all, but a bit better if you make a conscious effort to conserve in whatever direct proportion you place on increased gas and electricity.

I still say it's nice to drive home and have time to do daylight-type stuff a month earlier

I didn't know that. Hawaii sounds better and better. I hate DST.

Arizona doesn't use DST either.

That's because Arizona clearly isn't a state.

i moved from one part of LA a mile west to another part, and my gas bill went from $8 a month to $80. Shitty insulation makes me and baby jesus cry :(

I like it when you call the power company and question the bill and you get a dumb customer service rep on the phone that goes:

"The bill is high because gas stations are high!"

Makes me want to toss a bullet into my face!

You guys are complaining about $80 utility bills? My electricity bill was almost $400 peak months of the summer... and now the AC unit is fucked for a grand total of almost $6000.

The ducts are filled with mold and shit now so I'm not sure if that estimate includes whatever it is they do to them.

I don’t know about anyone else but with the temps hitting 70 this week, clear skies and it being lighter later... my spring has sprung. Bye bye dismal winter blues, hello sunshine! The women here have already lost like three layers of clothes. :pirate:
