>peer ring
You stare intently at your ring. A fog begins to creep into the periphery of your vision, gradually obscuring your surroundings. Then, the details of another location overlay the haze, showing you...
[Citrine Street, In the Hedge]
>rub ring
Suddenly, your ring spouts thick clouds of fog. In the next heartbeat, you feel yourself launch into the air, and you are hurtling through empty space! Abruptly, the sensation ceases, leaving you a bit unsteady on your feet.
[Citrine Street, In the Hedge]
>pul ring
The ring begins to glow, giving off a greenish phosphorescence. Slowly a fiery sigil appears, depicting the numeral 1. It flickers a few moments like a candle dancing in mist, then fades away to nothing.
>push ring
The ring begins to glow and gradually, a fiery sigil appears on its surface, depicting the numeral 3. It flickers a few moments, then disappears.
Others see:
Leaving
Tsin rubs his ring and fog billows from it in a thick cloud, quickly obscuring his form from sight. As the murk clears, you see Tsin is no longer there.
Arriving
A blanket of fog begins to fill the room. As it clears, Tsin is suddenly standing in front of you.
Room preview (peer)
Tsin gazes fixedly at his ring, as if mesmerized.
Setting changes:
Tsin concentrates intently on his ring.

Someone brought up an interesting capability for long distance travel..
Although cross realms can't be done in a single jump, it would be possible to set several locations on the "border" of a given town's thought range.. You could then teleport to one spot, move one room and then teleport to the next, etc...
For instance if you set a spots on the glacier, icemule, the outpost, and the rift door.. You could jump to each location, move over one room and then jump to the next..
Theoretically you could probably make it from the landing to the rift in about 5 seconds.

Too bad the carts and ferries in Elven Nations defeat this strategy. Not to mention the trip to Teras. Otherwise it'd be really nice.

Yes that's true.. but the trip would be a lot shorter if you ONLY had to do the ferries and cart rides..
Besides we have chronomage for the difficult trips.

That's always something I meant to try out and see if it would work when I had one of those rings for a while, but would always forget.
If I remember right though, that area between the Landing and Icemule is a dead zone as far as gold rings and stuff go, and maybe some parts of Pinefar. I don't remember for sure though, it's been a long time since I've made that trip. I'd be interested to know for sure whether it works or not out of curiosity. I do remember always running a script from Pinefar to the rift though. If those areas were teleport friendly, I'm sure I would have done that instead. But again, it's been a long time so who knows.

I'm pretty sure the whole area after the rocks in Pinefar is a ring dead zone. You can't just ring up to the Rift doors. Like all of Tsin's sales pitches, it's all bullshit that ignores all the actual facts.
And weren't you the one that added the Tsin definition on urbandictionary.com?

And yet, people keep buying from him, despite the lies and freakishly high price tags... so who REALLY is to blame?
If someone is daft enough to buy from him, that's THEIR problem. All you can really do is keep the word out "buyer beware" (shrug)
I don't think the icemule trail is a dead zone, it is it's own mini-realm though. To go from the Landing to the rift you'd have to have it set for glatoph before the chasm, go chasm, then have it set to the end of icemule trail, go n, then have it set for pinefar-nightmare gorge, then go rocks, then have it set for the door. You couldn't ring any higher than that.
Although, now that I think about it, seekers may be a dead zone, I remember people have a hard time fogging to you there but I've fogged out of there before. You might have to fog to the arch at the beginning of seekers then climb the final part of the mountain.

And weren't you the one that added the Tsin definition on urbandictionary.com?
Nope. I'm 99% sure though that his Landing to Rift in 5 seconds "theory" is completely inaccurate. If it worked, I would have been doing it the whole time I hunted the rift via multiple gold rings and a script, cause I was incredibly lazy when it came to traveling in GS. It's possible those dead zones have been changed to be teleport friendly over the years, but I seriously doubt it.
If it was something that could be done, I'm sure he would have tested it a long time ago and make a huge deal in this thread about how it was possible and jack the price up even higher based on that fact, as opposed to just a small mention about how it might be possible. I'm guessing (and I may be wrong) that he's tested it at one point or another, it didn't work, and the "theoretically" line translates to "It doesn't really work, but I'm going to act like I don't know for sure and hope someone bites, and then later when they complain I can cover my ass by saying it was only a theory." It just fits his profile when it comes to sales. No offense Tsin, I still like ya :P

I tested the 'dead zones' in Plat, and I couldn't use the 5 set one I got to borrow to get to Icehole, let alone the rift.

Beyond all that, its still a nice item. One of the few I would actually pay this much coin for. I just don't have that kinda loot on me right now.

Another quote by Tsin on the officials. Comic GOLD
- That's really sad..
I don't think i've ever seen someone put THAT much effort into sabotaging someones sale.. I just hope so much hate in one post makes you feel better inside for not being able to afford it.. I also think it's pretty funny that four days ago you were describing how the rings are vastly superior to other teleport items.
There can be only one. -
That's Tsin actually complaining about someone attempting to sabotage a sale. Fantastic.

Why is that stupid? He already has a 10 setter that I sold to him for 100 over a year ago.. Why not offer 100 for a 12 setter? In fact one of the 7 setter owners tried to sell me his for 110m yesterday.. Anyone who knows anything about the value of high end items knows they go for a lot more than 100. Lets see.. Katara, Ardwen, Blueland, Shallimar, Speaker and I have all paid at least 100m for 10 or 12 settings.. I guess we all must be stupid.

Depends on the GM.
Hadlir snaps his fingers and poses dramatically, but nothing happens. After a few totally uninteresting moments, his face goes blank, and he sulks slowly out of the area.

Correct and incorrect. I "offered" 100m for the ring.. the offer was refused and is now over. I "never" bid on items. I offer what I am willing to pay for an item at the time no more no less. my offer of 100m was NOT a bid and is not standing. Sorry for the confusion.

I think that's the best one I've seen ever.
Anything can rival a GM's entrance when done in front of the uninformed. You can find a group of newish low level players and easily masquerade as a GM if you have enough toys.
A good one is any self-mana invisibility item, it gives unique messaging when you disappear, most people have no idea what it is.
I can take my bardfest pin, go invisible, and make music and people think its announcing a merchant or an invasion. People are easily fooled.

At one point there were people that thought I was GM because of the hide script on my old lint bag and my old teleport staff and some of my other items with nifty scripts. Was funny stuff, I'd get random IMs from people "Dude I didn't know you were a GM! Yeah, so-and-so told me!"

It's sort of the same situation as when some ignorant bastard buys a coppertone H2 and cruises around town with no actual destination... burning gas and wasting a day. Just because you can afford to buy it or DO that, doesn't mean it's a good idea. Just a pathetic cry for help.
I see & hear about folks spending huge amounts of silvers, or real money on items/characters/etc... and all I can do is shrug my shoulders and sigh in half-interested disgust/pity...
Honestly, is anyone here REALLY going to lose any sleep over Tsin claiming how much something is worth? Maybe this 'slump' in sales will drive prices down... (shrug)
