Ithzir maneuver. Only heralds will do it. The disc acts as Call wind for 3-4 rounds before exploding much like the closing of an open implosion to deal mass damage. Any attempt to attack the ithzir herald physically will result in the ass kicking you received. Killing the Ithzir stops the attack. You can do so magically. Perhaps with a ranged weapon or hurling. Not sure on those.

I can confirm that ranged weapons will kill the herald with no counterattacks like you just witnessed.
