Ok, generally, I'm pretty good with knowing a direction to go, but I'm just having a real rough time with armor choice at this point.

I'm in plat where outside spells and help are really nil. Yes there are friends that can spell me up, but it's not always an option.

I've been very fond of light armors and there is the idea in time that armor and hiding will change for rogues, which I been trying to prepare.

But 4x LBP isn't cutting it anymore. With only self cast 401 and a statue, I'm still only topping about 130 DS in offensive and 250 or so in defensive at level 43. I 2x in dodge and I hurl, so parry DS is never happening. And I don't use a shield.

In prime I never had many issues, but I was also in lightning flaring chain mail.

What armor class should I bump up to to keep myself from getting royally fucked up when I'm surrounded?

Should I go to chain mail or try to stick it out in LBP but shoot for some padding or flares? I do have a set of resistance armor being et'ed, but it's only cold resistant, which isn't an issue with not hunting in pinefar.

Anyways, have at it!

You're in LBP? Get MBP or at least brig you bum.

You probably will see this happen after they release savants and monks. MBP is the way to go.

Archer rogues should be in brig+, melee rogues in MBP+.

The penalties to hiding when it comes to metal armors has been talked about and not implemented. You are going to get hit hard when you fall out of hiding. HCP Brig is not as good as MBP. However if you see yourself in Brig and not metal armors that is fine too.

Keep in mind that chain mail isn't always better than brig when you're making this decision.

Also, MBP is only the best if your charcater has enough redux to make the breakeven point with hauberk lower than his or her crit rank threshold. I'm not sure how much redux your character is mustering given the mutant path. Certainly by the higher levels you'll want to be in MBP.

Damn, do I just give off that mutant training path vibe?

I always do the odd builds...

TWC Hurl and LBP? You tell me. :D

TWC Hurl/LBP is perhaps the craziest mutant I've ever heard of.

I do a OHE/Shield/Hurl tank rogue and I consider that pretty mutant, in that I can get parry from the handaxes I throw, but still hurl them effectively....and break out a fel hafter to finish off, if need to.
