...is Richmond, Virginia.
That is all.
Obviously you didn't make it to the West End. You'd like it there.
Did you get beat up in the Fan/Oregon Hill/Jackson Ward or something?

I live by the Jefferson, and I work about 5 miles away from Short Pump.
I don't know what Oregon Hill/Jackson are, and if I got beat up in the Fan I'd kick my own ass. AFAIK, all that is in the Fan are emo folk (i.e., @ Helen's) and VCU people.
Oregon Hill's a blue collar neighborhood in the fan. Pine, Laurel, and Cherry are a few streets I can remember.
Jackson Ward is on the North side of Broad around the same area.
Helen's is pretty terrible. Hit up Commercial Taphouse, if you haven't already. They carry a great selection of beers on-tap and usually have some super nice seasonal stuff.

I'd give anything to live in the CAPITAL OF THE C.S.A.
Advance the flag of Dixie, hurrah! Hurrah!
You'd love Monument Ave, Toobz

I also never thought that I'd find a cable company that sucks worse than Cox, but Comcast is pushing it.
There is just nothing redeeming about this city.
Yeah, there's no prominent art community, raging music scene, happening night life, excellent dining, nor beautiful architecture in Richmond, VA.
p.s. maymont rules.

Chester Pa. was called the Armpit of America in our religion textbooks in HS... It was funny watching the reaction of the kids in my class who were from Chester.

ROFL at these pitiful cities. Baltimore takes the cake. This place is FTL! Not only is there a Bum City a block away from City Hall, there's a murder a day almost, and with the aesthetic value of pittsburgh (run down factories, etc) with more crime. My street looks like someone took a few trash cans and poured the contents all over the street. Not only that, gangs of wannabe gangsta white kids roam my white ghetto all night. Totally unacceptable. Can't wait to move out to Towson!

there's a murder a day almost
That must be so tough...
Richmond's the fifth most dangerous city, and number 2 for murders per capita. It's not even the whole city, though, because there are parts that are extremely nice...it's the little pockets of poverty (Blackwell, Crayton Court, Mosbey) that have most of the crime contained in them.

The Bloods are back and MS-13's here now too :D

Wichita Falls TX.
Wichita Falls-area historical tornado activity is slightly above Texas state average. It is 150% greater than the overall U.S. average.http://www.city-data.com/city/Wichita-Falls-Texas.html

Really? Baltimore? I've been there, it seems nice.
Of course, my parents live in a nice part of town, so I probably have a skewed view of the city.

A few years ago dayton was the murder capital /per capita in the US. It's pretty easy to just avoid the areas where people get shot though, it's pretty much contained.
on topic, I'd say that Salem VA is the armpit of america. Played a large tournament there last summer, there isn't anything around and the highway system is one of the worst designed I've ever seen.

I work in Salem and have to agree the roads around here are seriously fucked up. Coming from a huge interstate city (Atlanta) It has taken me over a year to get used to the boring ass towns and shitty roads. Speaking of Atlanta its #3 most dangerous city and has won the coveted #1 violent crime trophy quite a few years. Awesome place to grow up though, eat some dinner, go to a theme park, stop by a museum, do some crack(meth now I think), catch a show and shoot someone all in one night!
I was always under the impression the Armpit of America was Alabama....or is that the taint of America?

Ok, i skipped page two of this thread, but it needs to be said that the official, and adequately-shaped armpit of America, is New Jersey. Flat out.

By now most of the people that left New Orleans have returned, making the city completely undesirable once again.
