And I'll be watching YOU. If you're in Las Vegas, that is. At the casino I'm working at. Heh.

I'm so excited to be leaving my current job I could just yell. It will be keeping me busy, unlike my current job... which is why I have five hours a night I can sit here and post.

I know not a lot of people would complain about a job that pays them to sit on their ass, but I've graduated from school and I'm looking for a new challenge.

I can't wait!

Thanks! Yes, I'll be watching "upstairs," eye in the sky, and all of that.

Whoever wanted to know about cheating at Blackjack, read "Bringing Down the House" by Ben Mezrich (sp?) It's great.

Congratulations.

I'm in the process of looking for a new job. I'm hoping to get on as customer service for a ammunitions plant around here.

It's the biggest pain in the ass ever, but when you finally land a job that you enjoy, it makes it all worth it.

Congratulations!

I know what you mean about cushy jobs. Everyone thinks it's so great. I have an education though... I'd actually like to use my head for once.

Now, I feel like an expirimental Sony product.

NEW! Flesh coated tape recorder!
Round eyes!
Punch him in the nuts, and watch him swear in English!

I dream of a job in sales, or running my own business, or law school, or a hundred other things that would have some worth in this world.

I'm really happy for your new job.
You've motivated me to start looking.

Hmmm.... I think red-dick has issues with women who aren't submissive. Perhaps he is the one with control issues?

I like that website though. Hehe

Congrats on the new job!

I'm also one who likes challenges and want a job where I use my abilities. I kept changing jobs every 6 months (the most I could take of all the bureaucratic idiocy) until I found the career I'm comfortable with.

I hope this is it for you!

Congratulations! This thread is funny, because just yesterday I heard on the radio they did a survey about the the recovering economy. They asked people the one thing they want to do and 78% said they wanted to look for a new job.

My hubby and I sold a very profitable business a year and a half ago, one that let us live in the style I had grown very accustom too. We hated the business so we took the plunge, sold, hen bought a restaurant. Both of us are working insane hours but we love it and are very happy. We started over when we should have been planning retirement in another 15 years. Best thing we ever did.

I wish I could quit school, get an entry level position and just work my way up.

P.S. Card counting is the way to legally win at blackjack, but the casinos will not let you get away with it for long.

Yup. Have you read the book? It's soooo good. The reason the MIT teams succeeded for so long was because it was in the early 90's when team card-counting was still very new, and casinos weren't watching for it the way they spot individual card counters.

Myshel, that's awesome for you, I'm glad your restaurant is doing good. It's supposed to be one of the riskiest businesses to start on your own, so it's good you're working long hours and putting so much into it! I hope it continues to work out for you.

<< Have you read the book? >>

Not that one, no.

I stopped gambling in casinos 20+ years ago. It just stuck in my craw that you could be playing legally, but they could stop you anyway.

Heh, that's why it's private property and all that. The Gaming Commission won't make a law against it because it doesn't actually alter the outcome of a game the way loaded dice do.

They actually asked me in my interview how I felt about card counting. My answer was that it's basically a big game - the Casinos versus people who want to separate them from their money, unlock the coffers, so to speak. It just depends whose side you're on. If I was recruited by card counters (not likely) I would be on that side and give THEM all my effort, but I'm on the side of the casinos now - meaning they get due diligence.

Seriously, read the book, I think you'll enjoy it.
