NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The final Harry Potter book will hit bookstores July 21, its U.S. publisher announced early Thursday.

"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," by J.K. Rowling, will be the seventh and final book in the best selling series of children's book of all time. Scholastic (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=SCHL) (Charts (http://money.cnn.com/quote/chart/chart.html?symb=SCHL)) said the previous book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" was the fastest-selling book in history, selling 6.9 million copies in the first 24 hours.

The final Harry Potter book will be available July 21.

The book will cost $34.99 in hardcover and be printed under the Arthur A. Levine imprint of Scholastic. Online book sellers such as Amazon (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=AMZN) (Charts (http://money.cnn.com/quote/chart/chart.html?symb=AMZN)) and Barnes & Noble (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=BN) (Charts (http://money.cnn.com/quote/chart/chart.html?symb=BN)) are already taking orders for the book.

The book also comes out a week after the fifth movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" from Time Warner (http://money.cnn.com/quote/quote.html?symb=TWX) (Charts (http://money.cnn.com/quote/chart/chart.html?symb=TWX)) unit Warner Bros. hits theaters.

Good for her... it's made her a fucking billionaire and she recently pwnt #40 on the worlds most powerful women list. Time for her to get a yacht, a cabin boy and a bottle of tequilla in each hole and ride out the rest of her days.

For the last book, it was the first time I went at midnight to Barnes & Noble to buy it and it was definitely interesting. I will probably go again this year but not to the same place.

I'll be hitting up Books-a-Million this year cause I know a couple people who work there and it will be fun. B&N did a really shitty job of keeping any sense of order in their store and there was like utter chaos with kids running everywhere and screaming and it was just ugh.
