I would be APPALLED if my veterinarian sent me an emailed typed out like that.

I mean...I understand being busy/lazy. But don't people realize you lose credibility when you type like that and you hold a high ranking job where the lives of animals, or people are at stake?

Crazy.

You realize this thread is titled "Damn Scam Artists" and that guy isn't a veterinarian, right?

I did. :(

I don't understand what the scam is though. They don't pay and get the animal for free or what?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the gist of it is that the check is a forgery/fake. I assume the bank cashes the check, but doesn't realize it's a fake until they try to "cash" it.

You send the guy back $3300 minus your fee or whatever, and you're out the money when the bank calls you the next day asking why you are cashing phony checks.

I probably have a few details wrong, but that's the basic concept.

It's a very common scam. Western Union is fucking retarded because they constantly allow it to happen.

I liked how they referred to the pet as an "item", and asked about it's condition.

Edited to add: You're trying to sell a pet you rescued, IE, got for free?

Bob is right, this is a popular scam through Western Union. They are in big trouble for this by the way.
