Seriously, why would you schedule Heroes and 24 for the same hour?

Is it bad that I've never watched one minute of one episode of either of these shows?

Heh, it's called a battle for viewers! WHERE IS YOUR LOYALTY!?!?!

I believe Grey's Anatomy and CSI go through the same thing(I only watch CSI every now and then, but I read the Business Journal).

I knew what this thread was going to say just from the title. I was saying the same thing earlier today. Gotta love DVR.

Yea I went out and bought a new coaxial cable today to run to my computer so I can record Heroes. I figure 24 demands the HD more than Heroes. That and NBC throws hereos on their website so I could watch it tomorrow if I wanted to.

Thank God for Global Television in Canada.

Prison Break at 8, Heroes at 9, 24 at 10.

But anyhow, you can always download the episodes straight from the network.

do you people still not have dvrs?

jesus. I expect it from PB, but some of you are under 50 and therefore have no excuse to ignore the obvious benefit of affordable technology.

It's kinda creepy seeing Nathan Petrelli's wife on 24 and knowing theres a possibilty that shes on Heroes at the same moment.

Two words...

DVR

TiVO

I've only used TiVO briefly, but doesn't it forbid changing the channel while it's recording? I can still change the channel on the TV itself, but none of the network stations come in anywhere close to watchable.

Or as my mom calls it, Divo.

Yes, TiVO makes you watch what you're recording.

DVR will allow you to record and watch alternating shows, and even record 2 shows at the same time but you have to watch one of the shows thats being recorded.

Both have their positive attributes, I use DVR because of its ease of use with existing cable service (Time Warner).

TiVo allows you to record two things at the same time. But you have to be watching one of them.

Fox sucks for canning Firefly.

I'm pretty sure you can record two shows at the same time and still have the ability to watch something you've previously recorded. In essence you're watching three shows at once. This is true with Dish Network and their hardware. I practice this all the time because of my utter disdain for commercials.

My DVR is scientific atlanta (Time Warner) and I cant watch a third show if I'm recording 2 at the same time. :( I'm locked onto one of the show's I'm recording.

Edited to add: Yes, Meges, you can watch a previously recorded item in your recorded list and still record 2 others. Sorry, I just caught that upon re-re-reread.

TiVo only lets you record 2 shows if you run 2 feeds into it.

A DVR with two tuners can watch/record two shows. I don't think any DVRs out there have three tuners.

Seriously, Rick Schroder?

That's the best candidate for badass-to-be-killed-in-action that FOX could find?

What, Zack Morris wasn't available?

I never got into 24 much myself. Mostly cause I dont like Kiefer much.

I do like Heros though, and I am pissed it won't be back on for a while.

Bump.

Jack Bauer got relegated to DVR because China made him emo.

Meanwhile, despite the cornball ending, I really liked the Heroes finale. Maybe because it was kind of cheesy. I hope Nathan's apparent death was a comic book death. It was also kind of neat to see Peter borrow Nikki's powers to knock the shit out of Sylar.

Corporate tugging the consumerist puppet strings? Are you really that surprised?

Dance fanboy, dance. Buy a Tivo or a DVR from your cable company so you don’t miss either show then go out and get the mouthwash they sell during the commercials and while you’re at it get a new credit card with a variable interest rate that starts at 12% and is sure to go up to pay a down payment on a new car you can’t afford while you eat your Dominos pizza delivered with a 2-liter bottle of coke during the shows.
