I bit the bullet and finally made a site that I been wanting to do. If you already seen the site, I re did the whole thing with CSS. After seeing the power of CSS I decided to teach myself it Sunday and did the entire site by hand(no editor except for cheating with logs with Word).
http://www.GSGuide.net
The background and home page pic I made with my paintshopish program.
I plan on getting my sales page back up and my plat stuff done by tonight.
Let me know what you think! Be gentle, I'm not a web designer...

Decrease the font size on some of the pages. Looks great otherwise.

Did just that! I was debating on it as well, just needed someone to push me in that direction. Added some more formating to it and the GSIII Remix by ShadowTheft on the homepage.
Also made a new banner and added more links!

Site looks great! Love the music on the home page, and the organization is super. It'll be fun to watch it grow. :)

I'm hosting through godaddy, which I'm not overly thrilled about hearing the stories about it. But so far for what I'm doing it's ok! Can't beat 250GB of Bandwidth for 50bucks a year(all of which includes their security, domain fee and email).
Thanks, I forgot to add a link to here!

Looks good to me, i like it
Nice job overall. Clean, concise, well organized, limited colors and fonts. Ever think about web design?
For some reason the LiveAdventure.jpg loads slow for me, both the background and the smaller one. Its not my connect because I can load most commercial sites in less time. I noticed that the smaller jpg is at 75dpi (you only need 72dpi), though I would hardly think that would cause the slow load time. You might try a compression of 30 on the background image since you really can’t see most of it anyway. And in most cases you can get away with 50 compression in the smaller jpgs as long as there is no fine detail.

Yea, I planned on playing around with the compression of both pics, I noticed a slow down today as well, but I receive none when loading it from my test domain on godaddy.
Reading through some articles, slowness becomes an issue with godaddy it seems. But yea, I'm checking it all out.
As for think about web design, I'm a salesman at heart! I was just surprised how much more you can do with CSS than plan ol'html. My first attempt to make the site brought you back to 1997, Geocities! A friend then suggested CSS and told me it would prolly take me several months to get a hang of it... Saturday night.
Just glad it's getting positive reviews and tons of email from players!

Well, the whole point of CSS is to make pages load quicker because they aren’t bogged down by extraneous html code, like imbedded tables.
You’ve done an excellent job, don’t get me wrong. But for some reason your site loads slow. My best guess is its the images.

I'm not noticing the site being slow to load. Maybe it was the time of day, or something.

Wow.
The page loaded at 256 KB/s consistently throughout load time... and it took around 15 seconds.

For starters you might consider using a seperate .css file, you're currently not saving as much a space as you could from "extraneous markup" due to every page having to re-download the style portion.
You're also using the same image for the background as the map in the center of the first page, you might consider letting the browers reduce the image size.
Home Page - 14.1k could be 4k content 10k style
Background - 181.7k - looks to be about 30% jpg already... very difficult to reduce the size of this image.
Center pic - 73.9k - 30% = 55.1k, even at 10% (32.6k) it looks good
Banner - 84.3k - 30% = 25.6k, but doesn't look good at 10%, looks fine at 30 though... but being that it's the top of every page, I say go for 50%, for 37.8k
almost forgot: play button, 70k, you're currently hosting this, you might want to hotlink it from the play.net website: http://www.play.net/images/official/gs4play.gif this will save you the bandwidth, and go off their servers.
(didn't notice the second page when I posted this, seems you've already trimmed quite a bit, I thought people were complaining about the 350k from the start)

Aha, that's what they meant about a .css file!! I had no clue and couldn't find mention or a site with a css file!
Fixed that though...
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="GSGuide.css">
Just switching around the banner and I should have all the updates in effect. On the test domain, the load time is crazy fast now! THANKS LEGENDARY HERO!!
Uploading to FTP momentarily!

its alot faster loading for me now, but its still kinda slow compared to other sites
i think the music is making it alot slower for me as well, I keep seeing a Quicktime symbol for a lil bit, then watching the music bar download

I didn't change the CSS file just yet.
When I upload the .CSS file which is literally me copy and pasting it from the actual HTML I get very odd spacing only in the title(where the banner is). Removing the CSS file and putting it back into the HTML removes it. It makes no sense at all, so I took it all down for now...

Ok, updated it with picture load times.
Can't for the life if me figure out while removing the CSS info from the html and adding the exact same info via a .css file makes an odd border. But I'll work through that at a later time.
Changed the banner up as well...
Even faster for me. And nice favicon by the way.

Haha! Thanks. I was really digging the favicon.ico addition to web browsers!
I actually just took down the embed for the music too.
I am hearing that those that use QuickTIme and other MP3 playing software get lag and errors.
So that off too! But you can still click the link to download it.

My AdG script was updated for those that use it, I know it had errors, fixed most em if not all of em.
Wanna say thanks for all the feedback about it, even if some of it was, "Mario, you script sucks, slit your wrist now plz, kthx."
ALso, thanks for all the feedback about the site to those that told me directly and on here!
