So this soldier in Iraq contacted a company that sells floor mats, asking if they ship to APO addresses.

Their reply:

We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

My brother is with the first cavalry and is on his third tour in Iraq right now. I know the war is unpopular with many people, but I believe our troops need to be given full support, no matter one's opinion of the war. That a company would say something like this just boggles me. They could have just ended it with a simple "We do not ship to APO addresses." but had to get a dig in. I just don't understand it. Anyways, I actually e-mailed a complaint to the company, not that it will do anything.

Agreed. Don’t blame the soldiers.

Why link to snopes when they say this about it?
"identifies a statement of undetermined or ambiguous veracity."

Let your newspaper or something know.
Bad press like that hits companies in the place where it hurts most.

Because Snopes contacted both parties and had this to say:

Discount mats did not respond to multiple inquiries, but Sgt. Hess wrote back to us and confirmed that the correspondence was real:

This is all fact and true what happened. I'm with the 1st BCT 1st Calvary Division in Iraq just trying to find someone to send supplies that we needed.

LOL.

I just sent an email to discount-mats.com telling them how stupid they are.

Update,

I heard on the radio that this company fired the employee who sent the email back to the soldier.
