really? seems all the florida gatherings seem to never come to fruition. Seen about 10 or so that have fallen apart. Only time anyone ever gets together is at the REN festival. what part of north Florida? I am in south florida and know a couple others that live in my city and a couple of east coast guys.

Um...DisneyCon and UniCon both came to frution for 2 years running. We're planning the 3rd annual event this year.

There's a crapload of people in the Orlando area that come out to the October gather and everytime I hit Orlando I see Cristalia and Dredroberts.

We've also done gatherings in South FL at Hard Rock and I threw a New Year's party and random parties here or there. Me, Bisco, and Zimzum used to hang out a bunch when I lived in Hollywood.

Now that I'm in North FL (near Jacksonville), I get to hang out with Jolena, Stunseed, Cleodelia, Wadsworth and a couple people who used to play.

There's a Florida Simu Gathers website that people have posted events on before. It's all a matter of findin somethin fun to do and getting enough people interested.

The DisneyCon group is the one used for the annual gathering that started at Disney. Even though is says DisneyCon, it covers the October gathering stuff (Universal, Disney, Busch Gardens, Kennedy Space Center, cruises, etc).

This year we were talking about doing a 4 day Bahamas cruise out of Miami. Either that or maybe Busch Gardens in Tampa. I think the cruise would be way awesome because for around the price of a hotel you can have 4 days of all inclusive fun.

augie I have been a member of that mailing list for years and every time we tried to get one together nobody came. I forgot about the disney con I wasn't playing then(took a couple years off) when you guys started that but I did get the email.
Surely you can admit how hard it was to even put together a lets meet at a resteraunt. No two people could ever make it on the same day.
Next time an Orlando one comes up I'll be there. I am still up for hosting one down south as well.

:shrug: I never have problems getting people together. We had about 10 of us together for Hard Rock when we did a gather there, there was like 35-40 people at DisneyCon, about 15-20 at UniCon, and like I said I did random stuff with Bisco and Zimzum in south FL and Jolena and Stunseed and Cleodelia and Wadsworth in North FL. But I don't consider it a 'gather' when those of us who regularly get together just hang out or just go out to dinner or whatever. Like every time Zimzum was at my house I wasn't like "Ooh! A gather!" (heh it would have been a LONG ASS gather.)

Now for the 24th-25th of March, it's a Sat/Sun and I'm seriously only going for Mardis Gras. I don't care if people want to meet up at the parks or go grab some drinks after Mardis Gras when the park closes, but me and my girlfriend and hubby are going just to go to Mardis Gras heeheee.

Other than that, I'm down for hanging out and whatever. We will probably be at Universal during the day and Mardis Gras starts at 5pm and ends around 10pm. So it's just an overnight thing, but like I said, I am good with it if people want to come to the parks too.

Same thing with April 4th, it's just gonna be a one night thing going to Mardis Gras. Being an annual passholder makes it nice to be able to go to that event when I feel like it, but we live up in Jacksonville so we have to drive down there, we're not locals :D.

Either way, send me a PM if you want to figure out about meeting up that weekend. We can see.

I've got my favorite uncle and cousin(Separate abodes) both living in Winter Springs... Cousin had told me about the Mardi Gras thing in Universal - but my vacations have already been mostly planned and bidded on at work - So that lands me about a week's stay starting this upcoming Thursday down there. Plan to do a little Disney for a day or two I think - haven't been there since I was 5 and I remember being TERRIFIED of the haunted mansion.
