There's no fucking way San Diego will beat New England. The Chargers are going to obliterate New England. It's going to be embarrassing, but not as embarrassing as the 400 yard game LT is going to put up against the Colts. I love 'em, but we all know this "knowing how to play some measure of defense" thing isn't going to last.
What was the final score of the Saints - Eagles game in week 6?27-24 Saints. Creepy, huh?

My picks for tomorrow: Chargers (obviously) and Seahawks (just as obvious).

I'm hoping the Seahawks go for a last-second FG to break a tie from 56 yards that gets returned by Hester who fumbles, recovery TD Seahawks, game.

No, only because people are being somewhat sensible about the Patriots and even if they weren't they only had a week to hype instead of a month and a half. In terms of the final score, I wouldn't be surprised to see SD put up 41, but I expect NE would get more points than 14 due to garbage time.

Wow. I think you should stick with numbers and trannyism. You couldn't have been more wrong with the Chargers game. You're one of the reasons why I hate the Chargers -- everyone hyped them up to be so 'awe-inspiring'. Granted, they SHOULD have won the game if it weren't for some key turnovers, but by no means were they even close to dominating the Patriots.

WTF are you smorking?

Nothing really. I'm gambling on what I saw in todays game. Grossman only made a few novice mistakes under pressure. Most of the big passing fuck ups were made by recievers. They were coming off of a 2 week vacation that began with a loss ... the defense had a lack of wind in their sails and special teams (punt return) did a majorly stupid thing that cost the Bears another Hester punt return TD.

So I'm gambling on Grossman's A game personality to show up and the rest of the team to build on some momentum they lost against GB. If they get by NO, it will be by no less than 2 TDs .. I'm banking on 2 TDs, 2 EPs, and 2 FGs.

Once by NO, and I'm gambling on the Pats to take down the Colts, the Bears won't let the superbowl be a repeat of game 12.

Considering the announcers regularly botch the english language in attempts to sound "edumacated", they also botch reasons for certain plays ... such as the Seattle onside kick near the end of the first half to "keep the ball out of Hester's hand's" ... rather than to recover the ball and score again before half time ... Hester couldn't catch jack shit today.

Normally I'd point out much more ... but you couldn't produce a voting card and you shouldn't quote sports announcers, or even suggest they're authorities on the english language ... Dennis Miller already left that building.

Keep digging those holes and, again, save the "hohos" for spankey and your rosy palms

I wouldn't say they gave the game away. I would definitely say their COACH (yes, the most winningest regular season coach, Schoppenheimer (sp?)), gave it away.

How, Marty, can you call pass play after pass play in the 4th quarter when you have the most valuable player IN THE LEAGUE in LT? How?

There is a reason Marty is one of the most LOSING-est coaches in post-season play, and we just witnessed it.

...and LT was just getting started...

I wouldn't say they gave the game away. I would definitely say their COACH (yes, the most winningest regular season coach, Schoppenheimer (sp?)), gave it away.Schottenheimer can't catch the balls for the players (and he doesn't do most of the playcalling, btw). About the only part of the blame that you can saddle on Marty is a very questionable challenge in the second half and the bizarre decision not to kick a 49-yarder in the first half.

This is what drives me crazy about Patriot fanboys (taken from John Clayton on ESPN): "Sure, [Brady] threw three interceptions on the game. But Belichick kept trying to let Brady improvise and make the plays that would eventually let the Patriots win." The guy throws 3 interceptions and people still can't get off his jock.
The first 13 games of the Bears season is littered with wins of 18 points or greaterAgainst Green Bay, Detroit, Seattle (without Alexander), Buffalo, San Francisco, and NY Giants, none of which were close to the caliber the Saints are at now.

Also during this first 13 game span were a loss to the Dolphins and a win over Arizona (Arizona) on a last-second missed field goal. The Bears are a spotty team and have been all season, to think that a 12-point victory is assured is nonsense.

I pretty much hate Tom Brady..the guy comes out and sucks more cock than most pornstars yesterday and SD blows it, gives him a win, and he's THE BEST EVER! The guy threw 3 picks and looked like shit the vast majority of the game. The one thing that Marty blew was like Latrin said..the challenge in the 2nd that blew that timeout that they could have used on the 2 minute drill. Coulda got 'em atleast 2 more plays I would say. Even if they gained 10 yards..the kick looks a lot better at 44ish instead of 54ish. Dropped INT's and all the bonehead plays cost 'em that game. I'm not a Charger fan by any means but they are definately the better team. It's sad to see a game turn out like that..but that's the beauty (sorta) of sports.

I follow standard rules of logic that you're ignoring, unfortunately. If one team is not a very good team overall, and another team is one of the best in history, it's pretty fucking impossible for the first to be better than the second.

You're also using a small sample size when you compare SD and NE, which immediately causes problems in the way of accuracy distortion.

Seems I was conservative in my prediction because 25 > 17 ... pwnt and hard imo.

Bring on the excuses.

Hahaha. I don't get along with Tsa`ah, but this was just too funny. All those quotes referencing to people who didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground made me giggle.

Colts from the AFC, Bears from the NFC. Everyone else is just playing a part.

The Saints, like the Chargers before them, took themselves out of the game. However, Chicago's run attack was by no means negligible. I doubt NO would have won today even without 4 turnovers.

Oh no, Tsa`ah and JD think I don't know anything about football. However will I go on? Seriously though, two correct picks is really impressive. I mean it. I've never seen anything like it, every week in the regular season we were lucky to scrape 1 correct pick together. Your football acumen is just mindblowing. I mean, why are you guys even gracing our lowly presence here? You guys should be on ESPN, suffusing the entire nation in your unmatched football glory. I hear Sean Salisbury already has his kneepads on.

No team is good enough to beat any other team by 3 TDs or some similar silly amount.

Bears 39
Saints 14

I'm gonna laugh at all the fucking Pats fans tomorrow as they cry in their cereal. I think I'm gonna wear my Steve Tasker jersey for it.

Let me quote myself ...

Bring on the excuses.

The Saints were in it going into the half. They didn't take themselves out of anything ... they were stopped cold in the third after the second TD and conversion.

A turnover doesn't take you out of the game ... when the defense forces the turnovers and when the defense recovers the forced turnovers ... the defense took you out of the game ... not you. Likewise, when a turnover is made by the offense and they fail to recover, the defense has again taken you out of the game.

The Saints didn't do a thing to themselves other than not playing at the level the Bears set. I could say the Bears blew 12 point going into the half ... but in truth it was the better D played by the Saints rather than the inability to convert at whatever and goal ... 3 times.

1. I don't bother with weekly picks because I do not have the time to keep up with multiple teams in the regular season, nor do I want to spend my time on Sunday, and again on Monday night in front of the TV ... and Monday morning in the sports page, or glued to ESPN ... it's a waste to me.

2. I never once mentioned anything about anyone not knowing a thing. I made my predictions at the post season concerning the Bears, and the A/NFC championships ... which I blew the AFC by picking the Pats.

3. Let me quote myself ... again

Bring on the excuses.

Keep trotting out the excuses, Tsa`ah. I must commend you on one thing though, you've managed to string a few posts together without resorting to profanity of any kind. I'm impressed.
