Say I have some 5x SWCP plate armor.

How would I calculate the points needed to bring the armor up to heavily crit padded?

Do I get credit for the fact that it is already SWCP and it would only take say 5 more ranks of padding to bring it up to HCP? Or would it cost the same amount of points to bring a 5x set of armor from no padding to heavily padded (this doesn't seem fair, but sometimes life isn't)?

Can someone do the math for me that knows how this works?

Pre-Scripted item 3
Alter scroll 6
Autoscripter 6
Titles* 12
EZscript 18
Lighten/Deepen 6
Typeahead 9
Enhancive: level 1 or 2 18
Enhancive: level 3 or 4 24
Flare [+00 to +20] 5+ (X/2) [5 to 15]
Flare [+21 to +50] 15+ (X-20) [16 to 45]
Enchant [+X to +X+5] X+5, minimum 5
remain Blessable 5
Enchant flare 10+ X+5
Enchant script ++ 10+ X+5
Enchant: weighted OR padded (Y) 2*Y + X+5
Enchant claidhmore 40+ 2*(X+5)
add Padding (Y) [+X] 2*Y + X

++ Note: "scripted", according to Khaladon, are things like Sorrow, black ora, high-end white ora, "impure" coraesine, and such like. Pure coraesine [bonded] weapons might fall in the "too powerful to do"; Sorrow, might, also.

.

Where
* "X" is the current Enchant,
* "X+5" is the ending Enchant,
* and "Y" is the player-extrapolated rating chart:

Lightly 1-2
Fairly 3-4
Somewhat 5-6
Decent 7-8
Heavy 9-11
Very Heavy 12-14
Exceptional 15-19
Masterful 20-24
Incredible 25+

.

.

"Enchant claidhmore | 40+ 2*(X+5)

Where
* "X" is the current Enchant,
* "X+5" is the ending Enchant,"

.

So, do your math:
40
X+5 == 2+5 == 7
2*7 == 14
40 + 14 == 5400 points

Hope that helps

SWCP 5x armor

As is

X = 5
Y = 5

5*(2*5) + 5 = 55

or 5500 points to take 5x armor from 5 ranks of crit padding to 10 ranks of crit padding?

I think I am doing something wrong here.

Or is it 2*Y+X = 2*5 +5 = 15

1500 points to take 5x armor from 5 crit padding to 10 crit padding.

That seems to low.

5500 seems about right for 5x armor

4500 for 5x.

yeah 4500 for 5x armor with no padding... question is would the cost be lower if it already has some padding..

and I dunno that part, but if it is cheaper, it would most likely be 3500 points
25x100 for the enchant costs
its 2x the padding lvl, which 10 is the normal since its max.. swc is 5-6, lets say its 5, being taken to 10, difference of 5

so 2x5 + 25x100 = 3500 assuming they would give discount for existing padding

I'd like to know if there is a discount for already padded because imo that would be pretty fucking sweet of them.

I'm about 99% sure there isn't. They said the cost was the same originally, but who knows what changes they've made.

That was the part I was afraid of.

It doesn't seem fair that you would have to pay the same number of points to take plain 5x armor to HCP as 5x armor that was already SWCP.

In a perfect world it would cost half the points.

I had a feeling the cost would be the same.

Anyone have the time to test this via PCALC, because I don't right now.

Unless your armor is specially altered, you could just sell your current (padded) armor and just buy some 5x unpadded armor of the same type.

There's no discount for padding... I asked on a suit of decently crit padded armor, and was still quoted full price, even though it would have been only one step up.

On an aside, since it keeps getting mentioned in that one list, you can't get Sorrow enchanted with premium points, I asked on that too.

That confirms with what I heard about there being no discount for upping an existing level of padding to a higher level.

Its as if you are starting with a set of armor with no padding at all. So as was mentioned earlier, sell your swcp armor and buy a plain set of 5x to have padded to heavy.
