Phasing Containers...

So I gave it an honest attempt following the little info available on Krakiipedia... no luck.

After failing to phase my backpack and every other container I owned, I bought a new spidersilk satchel, had a simple lock installed and cast phase at it empty. It did not phase...

What am I missing here? are only certain types of containers phasable? Someone care to fill me in...

Any container should be phasable. Not every container can have a lock put on it.

A satchel should work fine. Are you casting or channeling at the satchel? Are you casting at the correct satchel? How much demonology lore do you have?

Note that you can not wear phased items.

A successful phase will look something like this:

You remove a singed forest green satchel from in your spidersilk backpack.
>phase my satch
*** TypoHelp: Converted "704 my satch" to PREP 704 and CAST AT my satch

You begin drawing a faint, twisting symbol while softly intoning the words for Phase...
Your spell is ready.
>
You gesture at a singed forest green satchel.
The satchel becomes momentarily insubstantial and appears lighter.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
(Forcing stance down to guarded)

You might not want to do that. Manipulating phased items is difficult.
You put a shifting forest green satchel in your spidersilk backpack.

Keeping unencumbered.

Spells like 714, 725, 730, and 740 all require components. Nice to beable to phase the container that holds all that clutter so it doesn't weigh us down and give us maneuver penalities.

Oh forgot to mention all the scrolls we infused for ourselves as well.

The satchel becomes momentarily insubstantial and appears lighter. You just can phase an item you are wearing. Once phased it goes inside another container.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
(Forcing stance down to guarded).

From this post it is casting. You channel boxes if you wish to plunge your hand inside. Personally I popped my own boxes

I have 50 ranks of demonology.
With 50 ranks I think you can phase up to or close to 20 lbs containers. You can't wear a phased container. It has to be placed inside a non phased item. Like a backpack, robe etc etc

Not every container is able to be phased. Some are completely resistant to the spell.
