With the best athletes in the world all playing the four major sports in the United States, I'm not surprised that most people shrug off baseball in the olympics.

It is a big deal over here though... nothing makes Japanese people happier than pounding their asian "friends" into oblivion.

In the rest of the world, olympic medals still have a lot of meaning.

How often do you think the US team needs to get beat before we start throwing our Barry Bonds type players out there? Id still prefer if we used college players for the basketball team as well.

It just seems...like..sacrilige (sp?) to me that the US got eliminated. Baseball is the AMERICAN passtime. Heh.

Football, baseball, hockey, and pro wrestling. Mmmm. Although Japan and Mexico have some pretty good wrestlers. And for some reason pro wrestling isn't an olympic sport. WTF?

I am ashamed we won't be entering baseball in the olympics. The U.S is usually the best in everything. We have the best baseball players in the world yet we couldnt cut it. Shameful, indeed.
