718 Torment question

I could wait and test this when I got home from work but I figured I would ask here. When you are tormenting a creature from one or two rooms away, what do others see? The reason for this question is my sorcerer torments mages. I am wondering what other hunters, who run through the area, are seeing so they know that the creature has been targeted.

They see a dark force lash out at the critter if you're successful and simply a struggle with it if you're not.
Sadly noone actually cares and they'll take the critter anyway.

More likely nobody even knows! How much can someone who'd call their character Cuddle Lovebugs actually know about anything?
