Disgruntled parents go to Arkansas AD

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. — The mother of Arkansas freshman quarterback Mitch Mustain said Wednesday that players’ parents who expressed concern about the Razorbacks’ offense respect coach Houston Nutt’s prerogative to shape the team’s strategy.
The team’s offense was discussed in a meeting between athletic director Frank Broyles and the parents of several freshmen.
Beck Campbell, Mustain’s mother, said in a statement that she discussed concerns about her son’s future as a football player. Campbell said she did not seek promises or guarantees and that playing time was not an issue.
“It was agreed by all parties involved that the head coach has the valid right to determine the direction of the program and the manner in which the team would develop,” she said.
The No. 12 Razorbacks rode the running of Heisman Trophy runner-up Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, another 1,000-yard rusher, to a surprising Southeastern Conference title game appearance this season.
Campbell, along with the parents of tight end Ben Cleveland and receiver Damian Williams, visited Broyles last week. The three athletes played together at Springdale High School last year under Razorbacks offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, who was hired by Nutt after the 2005 season.
On Wednesday night, Nutt said Williams will be given his release to transfer.
At Springdale, Malzahn used a spread offense that leaned heavily on the passing game.
Rick Cleveland, the tight end’s father, said the parents understand Arkansas can run whatever offense it’s comfortable with, but he’s concerned the Springdale players might have been sold “a bill of goods” during recruiting.
“Our boys are used to catching 60 passes a year,” Cleveland told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “They want to go to a college where they get the same opportunity.”
Nutt has not talked about the complaints. Broyles said he had told the parents to meet with Nutt, but they came to his office anyway and he “didn’t want to be rude.” He has not discussed the details of the meeting.

Every team in the NCAA has the same retarded parents doing stupid shit. The thing is geographically the BIG 10 has a much lower IQ and thus the problem is worse.

Haha. You're trying to compare the academic success of the Big 10 and SEC? Big 10 blows them out of the water.

No. Hicks are from midwest or VA only.

Here is a fine example of the BIG 10 blowing away the SEC.

Who is the "smartest" of teh Big 10 football then? I just chose those two based on the championship.
P.s. You can call southerner's hicks if you like but you would be mistaken.

Looks like SEC produces something other than academically superior athletes.

"Smartest" of Big 10 is of course, University of Michigan, "the Harvard of the Midwest".

You really need to quit sucking that SEC cock bandwagon boy. You have season tickets to South Fl. but decide that this year you're a rutgers fan. once rutgers gets embarassed and the big east is shown to be a fraud, you pop the SEC cock in your mouth and get down to business like it's a popsicle in an Arizona summer.
so which team do you back anyway?

First of all as many know I'm a huge NCAA fan above all.
2) I'm jokingly known as Rutgers alumni amongst friends as I've made over EDIT on them in the past 4 years. They even bought me a Rutger's alumni shirt which I wore tailgating to their road game here.
3) I'm a huge bulls (south florida) fan and have been since many of the kids I played football with were the first team members back in the mid 90's. My brother is USF alumni (MICHIGAN STATE TRANSFER after he realized it sucked) and we get CHEAP season tickets on a very exciting young program in the BEST stadium in the SOUTHEAST US. (that serves beer as well!) and is only a 20 minute drive across the causeway.
4) I attended FSU with a little scholarship and quickly got ejected for sticking my nose in more pussy than books.
5) I am and have been a UF fan for almost 10 years thanks to my UF alumni sister inviting me to stay with her in Gainesville whilst I attended santa fe community college after I was ran out of town in Tallahassee.
University of Florida is a "public ivy". Ohio State lets anyone in.

lol @ public ivy. It is one of the top state schools in the nation but I was purely speaking about their football Athletes.

Vanderbilt is in the SEC last time I checked. I don't know of any school in the Big 10 that is on the same level, academically, as Vandy. Also, the University of Tennessee has several campuses including UTSI.

UF is the better SEC school.
And UofM is generally considered the second best public university. Most rankings have it Cal, UofM, UF.
Vandy is about the same caliber as Wisconsin with Purdue being ahead of both schools.

I'll save you the read. Vanderbilt is #18. Purdue is #64.
Michigan is actually #24 which is quite high.
Wisconsin is #34, Florida is #47, Ohio State is #57.

Not that I'm talking about football because we were the first team to ever go 0-13, but why is United States Military Academy (West Point) even considered in this list. Last I checked, thats the #1 school in the nation in academics, followed by Yale, then Princeton.

These rankings seem to indicate the best overall school in terms of academics rather than the best school in a particular field. For example, West Point is tied for 3rd in Engineering, but a school like Vandy is going to be way ahead in terms of pre-med.
