I just wandered into this site after a friend contacted me, in tears over something that was said in here.
I see the same group of assholes posting on this board who give the lands a bad name in the first place.
Its pretty sad really that those same people have nothing better to do than make trouble on these boards and in game.I imagine in rl there a bunch of pathetic losers who have to take their frustrations out while remaining anonymous.
I can remember a time not too far back when assholes like that werent permitted to exist very long in the lands or hide behind the excuse that im just roleplaying.
Do everyone a favor,if your coming to these boards to try and make someone have a shitty day or your goal in the lands is to piss as many people off as you can then dont even bother.
people behind the characters you see everyday have feelings and their reason to come into the lands isnt to be hassled by some prick with a two inch dick who hides his feelings of inadequacy by being a grade a jackass.
Over the past few years weve lost a number of g.ms and players whove passed away.i wonder if these jerks treated them with the same lack of respect and courtesy they do everyone else. and if they did i cant imagine them having any remorse for doing so.

If your friend is upset over what was said he/she has a few choices I'd say. Don't read it, don't respond to it, or defend him/herself.

As for you and your complaints here.. I would personally suggest that you post some specifics and state the real reason you are upset. You don't have to list your friend's name if you don't wish but to come on here and blanket insult around 700 posters or so will undoubtedly get you a pretty harsh response. This has been said before on the last 4 pages so I'm hoping that you will decide to list what your problem is for us. If not, well then I have to disregard your complaint as unfounded.

Now as for the insults you are so avidly against.. it's quite humorous to me that you would fling those same insults so quickly at someone yet complain of that practice at the same time. Just a suggestion.. make sure you do not perform the same 'hideous' acts you complain about before you come here complaining. Just my opinion though

There's another important distinction that has alluded you to this point as well, and it's probably even more important. What happens on these boards stays on these boards. Yes, this has been said about 100 times, but this is a message board about a game... If you're crying because of what people you don't know say about your character on a message board about a game... You need to take a look at yourself before you start blaming everyone here for your problems. And that's as much directed toward the person slamming the members here as it is to the person who was actually doing the crying.

After dealing with Warclaidhm for as long as many of us have.. he won't listen. He is only here to beg for some attention. He's the classic example of someone who will use "I swear, I'll kill myself" merely to gain sympathy and attention. I used to feel real bad for him... He is socially immature and I can only surmise that his only activity is playing on the computer. He probably has no real friends outside the game and he is obviously all of 14-16 years old.

Basically... I blame his parents for his condtion. They've allowed him to become what he is today.. and should have some sense slapped into them.

Quite honestly, I am insulted... Not everything I've posted on these boards has been nice and pleasant and happy. If that's how things were meant to be, this folder wouldn't exist in the first place. Well for one we have no idea what the guy was even talking about, as was posted by Wezas and Adredrin I have said two things that may be considered mean in the last few weeks, and one was about Leloo's parents :?: So I'm really failing to see how this could be directed at me (as he said it was) when all I ever really do is answer mechanics questions and occasionally give my opinion about something. Leads me to believe the original complaint doesn't have much merit, however if an instance were something I said DID make someone cry occured then I would like to know about it instead of making broad sweeping statements about the entire forum and then what seems like randomly picking a person to blame it on without anything to back it up.

If something I were to say or do really upset someone and they approached me honestly with a U2U or an IM or an email, I would talk it out.

I've done it with people here before, I'll leave their names out, but there are several 'long standing feuds' that have been resolved by one honest, open-minded message.

It's people that read something and take it out of context and then sic their 'army' of friends on the PC to avenge them with slander and shrieking that piss me off. I bet you 90% of the people that claim crying aren't really sad or upset at all. They just need someone to wipe the egg off their faces, and thus, have to find a reason for someone to 'save' them.

On a more serious note, it's not even cute to joke about someone committing suicide. A while back (a year or so?), a young man committed suicide after being taunted and teased to do so on a message board very much like this one. (I believe it was a message board for EQ, but the details are fuzzy.) His mother went after the posters with the fiery vengeance of hell. While I'm not entirely sure of the outcome of the lawsuit, I'm certain you wouldn't want a situation like that following you around. Le suck.

quite honestly my personal feelings on suicide are that if you are gonna do it, get it the fuck over with and don't bother everyone else with your fucking cries for help.

I do not consider myself a cold-hearted person. Much of the time, I am accused of caring too much.

However, I have come to realize that there are those people in the world who will cry over a dented Volkswagen. Never mind that the Volkswagen has no human feelings. These people will anthropomorphize it. The poor little thing is wounded!

There are others who could not care less about that poor, injured Volkswagen but will cry oceans over themselves...whether they are injured or not. These lovely folks always involve others in their tragedy. To them, the best way to get attention is to engender pity. The crier becomes the star in an epic melodrama of his/her own making. All others involved have only walk-on parts. ;)

Then there are those in whose emotional vocabulary the word "pity" does not exist. Give them an opportunity and they will rip and tear at anyone who shows emotional vulnerability in any way, shape or form, thus making themselves appear strong and in control.

I do not believe that any of these types comprise the majority of our society. Most of us are just people. We care about other people when our own problems do not completely occupy our minds. If we are up to our proverbial earlobes in alligators, we concentrate on our own needs and shut out the howling of the masses until we have our own lives under control. If we are on stable ground, we will reach out to another who might need our support. If that support is misused, we become resentful and distrustful of the person who misused it. To me, this is the average person who posts on these boards.

The melodrama makers bring their works to our attention. The Volkswagen Protectors Union rushes to their aid. The cold-hearted bastards slings stones. The rest of us find ourselves embroiled in the ensuing chaos and end up scratching our heads, trying to figure out what in the HELL just happened.

Oddly enough, these boards mimic the real world almost perfectly, as I see it. :)

Um, I read the first page, and it's lame. I'm not going to read the other pages.

I'm not an age-old veteran of these boards or anything, but I've been posting long enough to see that every once in awhile someone comes riding in on a very high horse about what a bunch of shitheads we all are, or certain people are, for posting complaints.

I'll admit sometimes things are harsher than necessary. I can be really harsh when someone in the game pisses me off. But for my part, at least, I've tried to read the responses (which are not always a chorus of "yeah what an asswipe") and look at the situation from other perspectives that people present. I don't always agree, but the discussion it facilitates is valuable.

Not all threads are so wonderful, and the issue with Teeoncy got way out of control. But hello, she brought that ALL on herself.

In conclusion. People will post complaints here, and they won't always be nice about it. Don't cry about it, for chrissakes. Reading this board is time-consuming enough, now you're going to waste time away from it thinking about it? Please.

When I was involved in the duping scam I never knew it untill a the duping person who duped th stuff IM'd me and told me he was locked out. I reported it and assisted Ganryu, and thanks to that I came out clear.
I know I can be a jerk. Many of my problems would go away if I just didn't provoke people in ways like Tijay mentioned.

I can and am a very nice guy. I know this sounds weird from someone whos cheated before, but laugh it up, just makes you more wrong.

I am stumped at this point. I was one of those who gave you the benefit of the doubt, but you continually give those who bash you more and more ammunition.

Some words of advice that I think I may have actually sent to you before.

DON"T try to post here about how smart you are. Don't post about how immature the people who call you on every misstatement are.

There are simply too many intelligent people with excellent memories here who will rip you up for it and they will do it with the amunition you yourself gave them.

This next advice has also been given. If you really wish to be a member of the PC just make a new screename and post annonymously for a time at least to let people and you for that matter see if people here can actually like you for you and not your history.

Of course if you are more clever than I have given you credit for and doing this just to cause more threads about you then great going and continue as you were. Ass.

That means that you don't mention your characters AT ALL, don't acknowledge them, don't post or reply in them or about them.

Exactly. Warclaidhm will never get it through his thick skull either. One of my characters befriended him as well a long while back and after all the helping him I could do, he turned on her just as he has done to Syberius.
